Things Aren't Freaking Perfect! (Part Two)

I decided to make a part 2 because this post is long. Again, People expect things to be so perfect, But rarely are things super easy and simple. They are often confusing and complex.

You Aren't Guaranteed Anything

Most of the time with our long-term goals, We assume that we do this thing, Then that thing. Then we stick our hand out expecting our reward.

Yeah doesn't work that way.
Sometimes yeah, it does. So I'm not saying you shouldn't look up the "steps" to your goal, you certainly should. But things in life rarely work out how they "should." So don't give up once you see things going in the "wrong" direction.

I had to learn this the hard way with my last relationship. I dated him six years. Then just magically assumed we'd get married.
G4F3y8N.jpg
I invested six years Therefore my reward, Was an engagement and marriage.
Right? That's how it works?

Unfortunately, I failed to see the signs, That it would never go in that direction. And I quickly started to realize. That just because I "worked hard" on something, And put in "My time" didn't guarantee me anything.

It's the same thing with a job promotion.
If management is continuously dangling that carrot in front of your face, And you work your butt off, But see absolutely no movement. There's a chance that you are in the wrong company, Or Have the wrong supervisor. No amount of "steps" will get you to what you want. At that point, you may have to find an alternative route. Whether it's a new job, New work area, Or heck transfer to the other location. You may have to make magic happen to get what you want. Even then, That promotion still won't be 100% Guaranteed.

Be resourceful

Because nothing is guaranteed. It's great to have a backup plan. What will you do if things don't work out in your favor?

Earlier this year my e-commerce store came crashing down, I was still self-employed. I had to be flexible. So I switched to my Shirt store full time, And Steemit helped give me the time I needed to build it up quickly.

If it wasn't for my resourcefulness. I would have HAD TO get a job to pay my bills. But because I found other ways to make money, I have CHOICES.

Be Happy No Matter What

HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE
HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE
HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE

How do I drill that into your head?
Seriously!

There is nothing wrong with being upset, sad or even angry.
There is nothing wrong with the occasional bad day.
But ultimately. You dictate your overall happiness level!

Every day for the rest of your life, You can find something to be unhappy about. You can find something to complain about. You can find something to ruin your day.
And guess what? The Opposite is also true.

Every day you can find something to be grateful for, You can find something to smile about, and you can find SOMETHING that will make today one of your happier days.

It's all a matter of perspective.
Even if you were to accomplish all of your goals in life today, You might not live a perfectly happy life, Unless you change your mindset.
Your life will never be perfect, And Don't expect it to be.

6 years... I remember hearing about this one in a much earlier post sometime ago, that is horrendous to have had that happen to you. Hugs

You were smart when your store came crashing down with allowing for those options to work and stop you NEEDING that job to pay the bills. That's what I would love is something allowing me to not need to find a job, though programming/game development means a job with a company will still be awesome for me to get. :)

Definitely right that you should be happy no matter what. Dwelling on the negative and doing nothing to bring the extra happiness through success will possibly reverse the speed and direction you go.

Aww thank you! It's okay! I learned my lesson luckily. Even though it took a very long time lol.

I hope you can find something that you really like in programming and game development and the nice thing about that is even if you don't. There are so many different opportunities with a skill like that.

Lol well you know what they say, better late than never haha.
Thank you! :)
That's right, I will be working on my own things as well, like a small 3D game to get even better at it all and try get at least work placement that might lead to a job too. :)

HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE
This is the most important part of the post! People always blame their depression on bad luck or on others...if you decide you are depressed, you will be depressed. If you decide you are happy, your life will be filled with joy. It's all about how you see things and what you think about yourself.
A very inspiring man I love listening to is Robin Williams. He does motivational talks and everything he says is very insightful. This man really helped me get out of the dark hole I was in. I you are feeling down right now, I really recommend watching his talks.

Right? I have mixed feelings on the depression part. Because I know sometimes it can't be controlled. But you still need to figure out some sort of treatment or care, To get yourself out of it.

Aww Robin Williams! I need to watch more of his stuff. I Love that quote at the bottom I can totally relate to that.

My bad, i meant Tony robbins not Robin Williams. Robbin Williams is quite the inspiring man as well, but the insight and knowledge that Tony Robbins gives during his speeches is really what I wanted to share :D

LOL both of them are great people. I was a bit confused. I always thought Robin Williams just acted and didn't have any speeches Lol!

I think a lot of the young generations have grown up with a silverspoon. Like you say many people are expecting to get things handed to them. The world doesn't work like that though and I am thankful for one that my parents didn't spoil me when I was young but made me always realize that if I wanted something I had to work for it.

Exactly!! I'm thankful for that too! It encourages us to work hard.

Yes, happiness is a CHOICE!

I was actually reasonably happy while I was living in my car... because I had a truly clean slate to rebuild from. No complications. It was remarkably freeing.

If there's one thing I have learned-- and I never hesitate to pass this along(!)-- it is that we should always do our BEST, but we also need to be open to the possibility that sometimes "our best" isn't good enough to accomplish some elusive goal we may have set for ourselves. And we need to be OK with that.

Meanwhile, little things in every single day we live have the potential to make us feel happy. We just need to be open to it.

Really enjoyed this post @kaylinart. I went to undergrad and grad school for a total of 6.5 years and have no degree to show for it. Talk about no guarantees! It was my choice in the end, but nonetheless, I get what you're throwing down here ;-)

And speaking of gratitude...

Would love to hear your thoughts about my latest video: How To NOT Feel Like S#*$ In the Morning [PART I]. I had a ton of fun making it ;-)

You're absolutely right, nothing in life is guaranteed. Sometimes you get lucky and things go how you want them too (and that's always exciting!) But sometime you need to make an adjustment. Great post :)

Exactly!

Strange. This is the second article I read today about happiness.
I think I am blessed because I am always happy. Maybe my brain is making too much of the "Happy" chemical. I don't know. What I do know is that if the picture you are watching inside of your head is depressing you, take that tape out and put a better one in.

Cheers!
...upvoted and resteemed

Exactly thats what I had to deal with all my life, until I realized that I was on the wrong path. Now even if I want something I dont work hard for it. I set it as a goal, but also keep myself busy with other things while I am doing the necessary steps to reach my goal.
I enjoyed reading your post. Thank you for sharing :)

You don't have to be perfect to get what you want. You have to get it done. When you realize you're in a wrong track, just do the right thing. Doing the right thing is always right.

Your post is so inspiring! I can't wait to read your next post!

Yes i agree . Thanks for your great posts....
And yes people need to be resourceful on life... 🙏🏿

Right? Heheh NO problem.

Ofc... To have a better society and your own future of course we need to be more connected to the world and be resourceful for any category of life.

happines is a gift dear friend!
we live in different cerkumstances, we live in diferent area of every different person!
i wish everybody to be happy! but not my oppurtunitty! i'm trying to say if we all could chose to be happy! why anybody chose to be sad, nervouz or something like that

HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE
HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE
HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE

I noticed that when I really want someone to understand something, usually, that's because I want myself to understand it deeper 😊

Happiness is the right energy we need to run through the day. Happiness connect to the right source for success.
But being happy is not a everyday thing and sadness is not a choice either. All this depends on circumstances that warrant it.

@seyiodus.

Wow! What a great motivation. Every sentence is loaded with impactful words.
"just because I "worked hard" on something, And put in "My time" didn't guarantee me anything." "Happiness is a choice" thanks so much for this.
