What You MUST Know About Photos in CHINA!

in life •  6 years ago

Hello Steem Blockchain!

Chinese girls absolutely love to take selfies. If you opened a Chinese girl's phone, you would probably find 128 GB of selfies lol.

It is extremely rare for a Chinese girl to take a raw, unedited photo of herself. By default, they feel they must use a popular photo editing app to alter the photo to appeal to Chinese beauty standards.

What are these standards?

  1. Making her eyes bigger: In China, having big eyes is seen as more attractive. Apps have built in features that make the subject's eyes bigger. Some girls take it wayyyy to far though. A lot of girls go to the extent of making their eyes look gigantic compared to the rest of their body and they end up looking like some alien creature hahah.

  2. Skin whitening: It is considered beautiful to have very white skin. The same apps can also bleach your skin to make it look whiter, clearer and remove freckles, blemishes, pimples, etc.

  3. A sharp jawline: Chinese girls are very insecure about their jawline. They don't want people to say they have a fat face. As a result, the photo apps distort their face in order to make it look slimmer and sharper.

Want to see examples of all of these? Check out the video! There are a ton of photos I have used for reference!

Thanks for reading & watching!

I forget the name of the app, but my gf's brother's fiance, was talking about an app some of her friends use that completely change how you look. It can make someone a bit heavier look much skinnier, can take the fat or flab off your arms, changes your skintone, makes yourlips or eyes bigger, amazing technology has come that far, years ago girls had to rely on the 45 degree angle looking down shots lol.

It's interesting how beauty standards vary from place to place and culture to culture. Me personally I prefer a darker complexion so I personally actually prefer her natural photo.

Was the selfie stick invented in China since they are so big on selfies?

Man you brought up an awesome point about the 45 degree myspace photo! That was the only way to look hotter back in the day hahaha. Now it is obsolete.

The selfie stick was invented by a Canadian but selfie sticks are absolutely booming in this country.

The timing of your post was kind of funny. Last night I was messing around with some different photo editing softwares and I noticed pic monkey has all these tools to whiten your teeth, make you look tanner, etc, etc, etc.

Woah, all the secrets are out now. Lol @ the umbrella topic tho and the arrow. Lol @ the kids also

There is so much truth in one video! It was funny to have them around. They kept making facing in front of me while I was talking.

This change is a bit strange, I personally consider that the most beautiful women in the world are Venezuelans! Although the change in the face is very noticeable ... at present there are thousands of applications for beautification, thanks for sharing a bit of the curiosities of China

No problem buddy. Thanks for checking this out

Around the world, the selfie is very used, especially in women, it is very curious the qualities that seem attractive to the Chinese, the eyes do not seem at all attractive, I think they look strange, but that is the decision of each person

Great curiosity, thanks!!

Yeah, the oversized eyes they get on the app look ridiculous to me. I personally find Chinese women very beautiful.

Certainly, its beautiful nature the cute without the need for applications

Social networks deceive too much with photographs, it is better to meet in person and fall in love with their feelings about love ... and if it is about appearance, all women have something different that makes them special, the Chinese are very interesting

Lol, that was fun to watch! So weird they make themselves look all different. You are right, the alien eyes are way too much!

It's the norm here. I don't think you can find a selfie in China that has not had these types of effects added to them. I just wish the changes weren't so drastic so that you don't end up seeing a completely different person in real life.

Not only Chinese girl's but also every girl's in the world likes selfies. Do you tell me who are not like selfies?

What a curiosity that I have never seen a Chinese who has dark skin and has curly hair, in particular all are white skin and with straight hair

Yes, they naturally have straight black hair. I like that a lot. There are a lot of ethnic minorities in China and some of them have dark skin; similar to the Indian complexion.

Thank you for telling me why I should know about the photo in china, it is very important.

the air pollution don't let me see their stupid faces well

What @kenanqhd wrote here is totally true, but there is no need to assault... I am a Chinese girl and I do that with my friends too and it is just one of the ways to make us feel happy, but that doesn't necessarily mean we are stupid!
