There's little you can do for people who aren't ready to be helped. Don't cast your pearls before swines. They'll commonise it.
Beware of familiarity. Familiarity is what makes people have little or no respect for things or people who life has brought to them to help them.
When people get too familiar with people, they lose respect for them. And that makes it very hard for them to helped. People don't value people or things they're familiar it. That's the way humans are.
Be wise. Never get to that point you're too familiar with your talents, gifts, spouse, friends, clients, siblings etc. It may stop you from realising their full potential and letting your true & unique light shine.
Familiarity was what stopped Jesus from helping the people in his hometown. He tried but he couldn't do much.
Jesus told them, “A prophet has little honor in his hometown, among his relatives, on the streets he played in as a child.” Jesus wasn’t able to do much of anything there—he laid hands on a few sick people and healed them, that’s all. He couldn’t get over their stubbornness. He left and made a circuit of the other villages, teaching.
