Why The Buried Child Within Creates Boredom When Eliminating Play?

in life •  6 years ago

From a young age, we play to understand reality, to enjoy it and overall fell alive. After a certain period of time, usually after our 18th mark, we gradually stop playing. We start more and more being "serious" adults. But too much adultness is more likely to cause serious happiness issues. Why is that?

Living the "boring" life

People mostly rely on teachers in a specific field to show them a way to a certain goal. Although in particular spheres, they are necessary, for other professions they are a waste of potential. We lose the enjoyment of creating something ourselves by copying patterns from "successful" gurus. By getting everything done for us and just applying the methods, we start feeling bored. After we reach our goal or we start gaining a craved amount of money - we stop developing our potential. We all see people relying on old information which they have learned years ago. The same people, later on, complain about how life is repetitive and monotonous.

Be a mature child

The child enjoys life by mish-mashing things, by combining and creating endless ideas even if they seem at first glance pretty awful. Concepts are born while playing around in a no specific direction, in total creative chaos. What adults always miss and dream about is their childhood. The freedom they had to roam and explore. This freedom is not gone, it was mentally buried for the sole purpose of becoming mature.

Exploration can take different forms - mental, physical, individual etc. We know so little about our existence, potential and overall life that there is room for everyone to express himself. The problem is that we think we know more than we do. We rely on others to entertain us and make us happy, then when everything is over we feel empty inside.

No one is our saviour but ourselves. To fix our boredom we need to ask ourselves, why are we bored? The answer is pretty straight forward: we depend on others and we have neglected our own curiosity for the unknown. Our projection of life is the same as yesterday, we stopped the learning process and thus created all time same time. Everything is stuck where it was yesterday.

To prevent this from happening we need to know that teachers aren't always needed. A teacher may show you the path and provide some knowledge, but the fun always begins when we try and fail. The process of development makes life so great and fulfilling. Failure exists when we quit if we always strive forward after we fail - we cannot expect anything else but success.

Playing is the ultimate way to a happy life. We combine, we create from the provided knowledge then we learn to make it better. Designing our own unique path by playing around with our mind, body and spirit is the ultimate way to a fulfilling life. If a person stops learning, he would always do the same thing over and over. As time goes on, the mind would adopt that as a core mechanism and thus will always act the same way.

Life provides tools, endless possibilities and combinations. The consciousness needs to choose how to use them, in which direction and of what intention. Choosing to always stay on the same boat as yesterday is a valid choice. Not choosing anything is paradoxically a choice which always results in a repetitive experience that creates a happiness issue.

What can we do to prevent boredom?

The answer is: being creative as much as possible. Resurrect the child within you by starting the exploration of the world once again. Be curious about the world you live in and strive for the unknown. Some practices may include: drawing randomly on a sheet of paper and then examining the drawing. We can always come up with ideas by random, just by drawing in a no particular direction. Start writing a journal or set goals that are achievable and unique for you. Start free writing which basically means to just let your mind freely create a story without a particular intention. The craft of creating and playing is in the process of being fully in the chaotic atmosphere.

The next time you feel bored just search for something interesting online, go out and take notes of your surrounding. Be open to ideas. Meditate to fully gain control over your body. Play an instrument. Do something because it makes you more conscious in the real world around you, do it simply without expecting anything. Just play around by mixing unconventional things. Let the guitar be untuned and try playing with it.

Take a notebook and write every single detail of an idea you have. Then mix it all together in many ways. Maybe you want to write a book? You have a specific goal - simply write all of your main details for the book, everything you want to happen and play with it by mixing it all together in various ways.

With every craft, you can do something chaotic and playful. Relying on other people to fill your emptiness and lostness would not solve anything if you do not take responsibility. Even being entertained can help simply if the viewer consciously observes and wants to take some ideas from the art being presented.

We project our cycle of everyday life outwards and thus we get what we before have planted. So plant ideas and let them grow. Make from the trash something magnificent. If we play with our life we would never see the next day as a copy of the previous one, but rather we would see every day as a new opportunity. Thank you for reading, have a creative life filled with satisfaction. Love <3
