Ladies and germs, the first week has officially begun.

My official arrival date is on the seventeenth.

I was yanked out of my comfort on the seventeenth day of October. However, for the last ten years I haven't let that one day stop the party.

Fun Fact: I am a middle child. I have the world’s most beautiful younger sister. She is currently away finishing her last year of college. If we rewind to when I left for college, I remember it was such a difficult time. I never thought she would be inspired to leave for college too and go further.

The Siblings

• My sister is the musically talented one.
• She loves to sing.
• She is learning the piano.
• She has a passion for leading.
• She wants to be a choir director for a church someday.

I have an older brother as well. He is recently married and we inherited a niece with the marriage. My big brother is the protector.

Often he is jealous of any potential suitors attempting to enter the family and change his sisters' last names.

• Big brother loves sports.
• He leads with his heart.
• He works hard to help others.
• He wants to be the best father to his daughter, the best husband to his wife, and the best brother to his sisters.

We don't always get along, but we protect each other.

Growing up, we fought a lot. It is hard to understand another human so similar and so different than you. We were raised by the same parents, we were in same house, we experienced the same losses. However, we made our own choices. We are beyond stubborn. We wish we had been closer and were closer not as adults. We wish we hadn’t always fought or continue to fight.

We are siblings. As I mentioned before, there is so much pain, loss, and frustration. However, every day that we are gifted with life should be celebrated. We have made it another year, my friends. Let’s light a candle and warm up our vocal chords! It's time for the birthday song!
