Everyone has dreams, hopes and thoughts for the future.
A future that each of us wish to make better for our-self and happier for our children.

Without goals and dreams we cannot strive for a better tomorrow.
Without goals and dreams we would be content in the stability and predictability of today. We would in actuality be stuck.

I don't know about you, but I dont want to be stuck. I want more, I want to be more, and I want to achieve more.

Having said that, setting up goals can be an intimidating thought. Where to start, what to start with and how to get started. Im going to share some tips on this, and everyone is more than welcome to comment with their own thoughts and contributions :)

1 Get a calendar or diary - this will help you set up goal deadlines or dates as well as structuring your thoughts. We live in a digital world, but pen on paper does wonders for planning.

When you have a diary/ calendar identify your goals and write them down. This way you wont forget them, wont confuse them and you can plan ahead.

2 Start with easy achievable goal - Set yourself up for success, not failure. Starting with smaller or easier things will help you build your self-esteem and confidence.

3 Be realistic - select goals that are achievable. Select things that motivate and inspire you. The more enthusiastic you are about a goal the more likely you are to succeed.

4 Don't give up - yes, you are likely to experience set backs, but this should not deter you from your aim. I tend to view goals like a toddler that is learning to walk. They fall, some falls are harder than others, sometimes there is even blood, but the toddler does not give up. they get up and try again until they succeed.

5 Reward yourself - Every thing you achieve, every advancement you make deserves praise, even if this means that you pat yourself on the shoulder :)

6 Motivate yourself and others- The more motivated you are the better. Its amazing how the human mind works, we feel good when we praise or assist others.. Motivation is function in exactly the same manner.

7 Smile when its going well, laugh when times are difficult- Laughter releases endorphin's that make us feel 'better'

ENDORPHINS: The principal function of endorphins is to inhibit the transmission of pain signals; they may also produce a feeling of euphoria very similar to that produced by other opioids.
Endorphins are naturally produced in response to pain, but their production can also be triggered by various human activities.

Set your goals to suit your needs :)

and the people who matter
Don't mind" Dr Suess
