You are not alone, I feel it too | I am a Creator EP 2

in life •  6 years ago  (edited)

Recently, I've been looking for new inspiration. The toss and toils of life can be rough, I find more and more learning curves every day. Thats not to say that its a bad thing, infact some would argue that I have matured even more from it. However, even a caterpillar must lie within a cacoon, in isolation, in order to develop and grow into something as beautiful as a butterfly. Please note, my absence was necessary in order to come back and hit hard again.

The truth is; I haven't been myself, I haven't felt as creative as what I once was, I haven't felt like I matter lately or that my work matters. It's hard to provide content when you don't believe in it. I am not writing this because I want to complain, the internet is not a replacement platform for therapy. But I want to write this to reach out. Reach out to those who felt or feel the same way and say You're not Alone.

Here is a photo of my happy place. I'd love to share it with you all. studio 2.jpg
This photo was taken at SAE Adelaide, Studio 2. Even though specifically, the AVID S6 Console is the bane of my existence! I still love being in a room like this. It's peaceful, quiet and most importantly there's music! (You all should know me well enough by now, music is a lifeline)

I sincerely want to keep things interesting on this one! So here it is!

Three things I have learned since taking a step back and regrouping.

  1. It is perfectly okay to take a step back and focus on yourself again.

  2. As a creative, you will go through slumps, moods, emotional rides, changes, changes back from the first change and maybe fall into a sense of worthlessness and sadness.

  3. You are not alone.

There are a few personal matters in my life that has lead to this decision and I want one thing to be clear, I am not a quitter, I wont ever give up. But for all those struggling out there at the moment. Feel free to comment down here, feel free to start a dialog.

Some advice I'd like for you, my followers, to take away from this post is:

  1. Find your happy place! Try your hardest to stay around it all the time. Now by this, I don't mean going out to pubs every night of the week. I mean finding what you are truly passionate about and then giving all or as much energy as you can into it.

  2. Take a step back from anything that has had a negative effect on you. This one is hard as sometimes you don't discover it immediately. This can be anything like toxic friends or doing things that you don't truly enjoy.

  3. Recompose yourself. This is different for everyone. For some, it may be confidence, others the ability to trust. But stick to your gut instincts, trust yourself and stick by your decisions.

  4. And Final, Love yourself! Give yourself the space, time and love you deserve. Spend time with people whole build you up and only look forward. One step at a time, you're not alone.

Good to see you back here again, Kyle. Great that you're still creating music - it's good to keeping something you love.

Hopefully you'll be able to get the creativity happening to the level you desire again, and will be able to really start pushing those musical aspirations.

Thank you heaps B!
Would love to catch up some time soon also!

I hope to keep creating content too!
