The view out my apartment window. You can see vaguely that there is cables crossing between the building at the centre and towards the camera, to the left, and to the right. If you can't see it, you can click on the image and see the full size version.
I have never seen another place in the world where people string ethernet and coaxial cables between high rise buildings, seemingly without needing any licence to do so. This is why Sofia has one of the fastest internet connections in the world (I think it's in the top 15 for sheer bandwidth).
Not only that, if you look closely at the building at the centre of the frame, you can see one of Sofia's signature architectural features: a single apartment block that has a total hodge-podge of renovations. Closed in balconies, different external insulation cladding, different window frames...
Also, many times I have watched shopkeepers cleaning, and modifying the pavement in front of their business, such as for example to lay an astroturf panel on it, or even to repair the pavement. Ok, so Sofia city council is a bunch of slackers - well, really, the thing is that in this country, most of that unskilled government service labour is monopolised by Gypsies. Seriously. Street cleaners, sewerage workers, gardeners, pavers, practically always are gypsies. Which is why everyone needs to fix up their qualitty workmanship!
Nice blog.

Such a nice clouds! I also find beauty in the imperfection around the city. It woundn't be that interesting without them, would it?

It's for sure one of the most interesting places I have ever seen. There is nothing quite like this except maybe in Serbia, anywhere else in Europe.
and yeah, those clouds are like golden clouds... they came out really well in the photo. I'm not sure why the building on the left is a bit blurry while the rest is sharp. My cybershot takes pretty good hand held images but I have developed a fairly significant tremor in the last 12 months that makes it worse.

I should sometime go up to the 15th floor and take a snap out one of the stairwell windows. That is in the other direction, towards G.M. Dimitrov residential quarter.
Unfortunately the access to the roof is locked, I'd love to get permission to go up there and do some panoramas. This is one of the tallest buildings within about 500m that I live in. I had a lot of trouble finding the building when I first came to have a look at it, because like many suburbs in Sofia, where all the buildings are like this, they have street names, but no numbers, only a block number. It's like this in Gotse Delchev as well. I was able to use a process of elimination by reading in the advertisment that the building was 15 stories high, so I looked around, counted stories, and eventually spotted it.

I did another set of photos last year showing a lot of sights along one of Sofia's major, and straightest roads, Tsar Boris III: https://steemit.com/photos/@l0k1/steem-fitness-program-take-2-a-walk-down-bulevard-tsar-boris-iii-sofia-bulgaria
I just read through it again, then got to the bottom. 28 cents. Damn. Those were the days!
