After 3 days of culling several computers worth of zipped backup files I somehow managed to erase my desktop where I had been saving all the folders of files I wanted to keep. restoring the trash bin didn't fix it. I'm trying a complete restore. again...

It worked!!!!! I'm back up and running. It didn't work the first time because my virus/malware protection prevented it. Once we turned that off, we were able to restore to yesterday. phew....
