"Believe in the Word"

I know that some when reading the title will associate the word with some type of religion and it is feasible because of the teaching we have had since we were very young regarding believing in an omnipresent and omnipotent God, followed by the word referring to what is written in the Bible, and if there is talk of believing whether you want to believe or not.

It is always common to refer to the past when talking about having a word, our grandparents were men of words because they fulfilled their promises in a responsible way and that made them honorable. For them it was so valuable to believe in the word because it spoke of who you were as a person, it was simply enough. Instead today even requires a notarized document that specifies what is promised and not fulfilling it will have legal consequences, this is called having a word now, as things have changed.

Now, paradoxically, man as a human species always believes in something, his mind is powerful, the act of carrying out what you think has more power, because if you do not do it, it only remains there in a thought. When you decide to believe in someone for example you need to have confidence in that person that you will meet until it becomes a fact being credible, because not to comply with the word is certainly lack of seriousness.

Nowadays it seems that the fact of "having a word" is extinguished, the common thing is not to believe in anyone due to the false promises, to the disappointments that you take from people who do not comply, those who cheat, those who lie because since They invented the excuses, the half-truths, the famous white lies, the respect, the honesty is hard to find now. People have to start being coherent with what they say they are and end up doing; From all this there arises a question: Who to believe? Before this is heard saying I have too many fingers when I tell people I trust, is strong.

There are some theories that try to justify certain behaviors that have to do with the breach of the word in many people, one is that it is hard for them to say that "No" and everything is committed by saying "Yes" to be good with people, for fear of lose friends and even relate this with low self-esteem and fear, Contrary to this I think it is more honest to say NO in time than to put a thousand excuses why he could not comply.

How terrible it is when someone tells you, I'm close to less than an hour away, or in ten (10) minutes I'm there and the truth is that he has not yet gotten out of bed. Another phrase is: first thing in the morning I am giving everything, and then days go by without delivering what was promised, when a delivery time is established and it is not fulfilled. Humanly in principle it is believed but when it is a constant these types of behaviors all confidence and credibility go to the ravine, it is a until here I do not believe more in you, it is regrettable.

What can we say about Venezuela with the problem of power cuts and consequently the internet, the connection almost impossible, could there be an excuse here for not fulfilling the job? Hello my friend @lanzjoseg it is a pleasure to read a publication for you...!!!

Thank you so much for remind me that I am forgetting some of my values and words ...!! I’m pretty sure that I have all the family basis.

But here on Steemit I think I’m not doing my best, helping people..!! and maybe my word has not value for some people because I receive some negative comments talking about me in one of my publication when I tried to give some Steem in my publication called 100000 Steem as a gift ...!!! I got those comments a day ago ..!!!

The only thing that I can do is trying my 200% of my best in my next publication. and help people directly and give some apologies those people who think that I am not worked very transparent in that publication...!!!

So. Thank you so much my friend @lanzjoseg one more time for your publication and take my mind how to fix something or everything I need.

The human being by his own human condition, needs to believe in something or someone. When we are children, we believe in our parents, then we are taught to believe in a God, and as we grow we believe in other people: teachers, friends, etc. It is important to remember that all "people are good until they prove otherwise".

Unfortunately, today the word has lost value: the numerous deceptions and lies does not allow us to believe in the word as a commitment or formal promise of something that will be fulfilled in the future.

In a society like the one we live in, it is difficult to find these values, especially today. From an early age, children are not educated in the proper way and they learn to lie. The word is something in extinction, not to say that it no longer exists.

And you see it every day, sellers make sure that what they sell to you is genuine, the bricklayers, the plumbers, the car mechanics; they're even scary.

When a mechanic tells you that your car is in good hands, you're sure to tremble at the thought of what he can do with your car while you're gone. Anyway, that's real life.

But as I have always said, it is not for these reasons that we should abandon values and principles. The best way to impart them is by demonstrating them, by setting an example. It's difficult because this society will call you a fool, to say the least. But our conscience will be clean. And we will be able to sleep peacefully at night.

Es verdad, muchas personas me han sorprendido demostrando valores y principios. Confiar es dificil, siempre depende del contexto. Pero, generalmente, siempre espero lo mejor de las personas cuando las conozco. Sus actitudes y su lenguaje, tanto oral como corporal, contarán la verdad.

Like you, I think that values like this need to be recovered, before it used to be said that the word of man was a document and people were very concerned about honoring their commitments. Nowadays it is very difficult to find people who are willing to fulfill their promises.

Very nice piece! I'll share a few brief thoughts I had while reading it.

There are many words that people use frequently that they don't know the true meaning of. A glaring example of this is the word "government" which literally means "mind control". (governare = to control, mens, mentis, or, as in Spanish "mente"= mind)
Know people by their actions, not necessarily their words.
From my personal experience, it seems to me that more people break their word (promise) now than they did in the past.

Before I go, I have to say CONGRATULATIONS on getting rep 60. Great work man, I'm happy for you! Say hi to your family for me.

This comment reminded me of my grandfather, who many years ago told me: Son, promise is to lie unless you keep your word, do not promise something that can not be fulfilled because you will be lying.

From my personal experience, it seems to me that more people break their word (promise) now than they did in the past.

If you're right, that's the government a very well-planned form of mind control.

Friend I tell you this government of criminals in these last days more and more attacks against all the inhabitants who are in other cities outside the capital. They cut the electric power for more than 24 hours just to be able to control people and I am very affected by that. As you can visit my blog you will realize that now I can hardly publish for those same problems.

Gone are the days when we understand the stares or with one look,
especially from a father, we already know what to do, we stop doing what annoying things we are doing.
I believe we have great respect for our parents then.

These words are becoming instinct especially to the Millenials who are more inclined to hold their cellphones than the hands of their parents.
Part of it probably is the many distractions and confusions they are encountering.

Do you know that I can not find any news about Venezuela in our newspapers/media?

What is the meaning of a (given) word if no one keeps it except for the ones who are a victim of amusement and violence.

I think both of my grandfathers were what we call "a man of honor". Different cultures lives and opinions, but they promised to take care of each other's wife if one of them would die.

Well the news in Venezuela the government of the criminals who are occupying positions are looking for ways to block any news.

Things are not very good in Venezuela. Only the capital has constant electric power. The government knows that if the capital is cut off, the people rise up against them.

But those of us who live in other cities, the government cuts electricity for up to 24 hours, is not easy since April 30, there are many protests and many are dead and they are persecuting all of us who are against this government.

I wonder what the government is thinking. You can kill people who are against you, you can make them leave and take their passports but what is left? A small group of simple minded slaves?
I wonder how many people will be left to fight and rebuild your country.

This strategy seems to work for Erdogan, but he will not live forever and you can not build a strong, healthy country/nation if the intellects left, the creative minds are forbidden and the analphabetics and brainwashed are the only ones remained (plus the side effect worldwide people hate each other because of their nation or the government). Wars and civil wars are worldwide now. I am happy I am not a kid growing up now.

How you deal without power? I am afraid there is no way to block news nowadays.

@lanzjoseg, In these times people are loosing the Focus because they are putting their energy into multiple things. And when we take the burden then definitely we cannot manage any work effectively and in this phase our words can lose the Integrity because we say one thing but actually it's not true because it was an excuse to get away from the arised situation. So whatever it is, we have to be clear minded so that we can make the decisions cealry where it is Yes and No.

I'm quite surprised other countries culture is similar to Malaysian culture where they say they are coming in 10 minutes but arrive 1 hour later haha.

To me I believe we need to fix ourselves first before we see the bad in others. Personally, I have fix my bad habits like lying to people saying im on the way but just got out of bed.

These days whenever I say im gonna do something I tell them the timeline when im going to accomplish what I promised. I don't use the word promise because promises is useless these days no one keep their promises.

So I change it to 'you can trust my words' I have practice it for years and it worked but of course you need to implement it.

But most of the time I will tell them I will do it but I am so busy im not sure when i can if possible please ask someone else to do it. I only promise if im 100% sure i can deliver my word to them.

I am Venezuelan but I was raised with the punctuality of the English. And that always helps me for all entrepreneurship, and you're right, we must first fix ourselves to be able to demonstrate what we are worth. I consider myself a man of my word and say NO, when I know I can not, so I do not have that problem of lying to make someone feel good just for a moment.

From my own perspective i doubt this "The word"can ever be recovered because life has really gone really bad to the extent that only the bad people become comfortable, i mean very very comfortable while the honest one got to suffer on and even using their sweat to serve the bad one yet still suffer.
It is now fully believed that honesty bring no fame and gain, if you dont know how to lie to get what you want then stay honest and suffer.

Only God intervention is needed in a man to bring that honesty, dignity honour, respect, integrity,confidence etc in a man heart. With that "The word of man" can be fulfilled.

Many people don't respect other people's time. Just as you mentioned in your post, there was once when my friend and I had a meet-up arranged in our university and turns out he was still at home while I was already in our university waiting for his arrival. I was so annoyed that day and learned to never fix appointments with him again.

I think simply the word is 'Trust'
Without trust no other word means anything.
If someone says I'll be there or do this. You trust them once. If they fulfill their promise then you will trust their word next time if not you will start with doubt and then lose faith in them.
Trust is the word in every relationship. Once broken it's hard to regain.

Hello @lanzjoseg..thank you for the link.

The Word Of Man the topic itself says a lot..An unique article with simple but a deep meaning..

Formally, Word represents 'promise' but who really means it when they say they will keep their word? almost every one neglects it..cause we think who possibly keeps a count of it..

But another meaning to it can be a bit informal..(like: Mark My Word..!) when you're ensuring something with a lot of confidence ( more than you need) :)
especially in case, you're predicting something..

I actually believe in none to be honest..cause it's really hard to believe in someone's 'word' blindly..i mean..we might say that..yeah..! we believe in you but in reality, who knows what's going on in their mind..

and the 'word' referring to prediction really seems vague..cause their might be some approximate probability but no one can predict the exact scenario.

Lastly thanks for sharing the link to an awesome article..

Giving someone your word... I think in some circles and communities this still holds a lot of value.

Personally if I give someone my word on a topic, or say I am going to do something, there's a 99% chance that that something will happen. I say 99% because there is that 1% of something that is totally on accountable for.

However I think the vast majority of people don't feel this way, perhaps because they are not well-versed in time management, or perhaps because they just don't care... Whatever the reason it's sad that we can't take someone on their word any more. I've been burned a few times by people promising stuff and not delivering... Doing one do a contract with them, then follow up on suing them if they don't follow through... Not so much... That is just a lot of hassle and it sad that we have to use contracts instead of just the solid handshake.

Constant evolution - I like that it's a good catch line!

Hello @lanzjoseg I just got to know about you today from @crypto.piotr birthday post. Quite interesting scenarios you pointed out in this article.

How terrible it is when someone tells you, I'm close to less than an hour away, or in ten (10) minutes I'm there and the truth is that he has not yet gotten out of bed.

This is a very common habit among men and in fact I was a victim of this yesterday. I got caught up by rain waiting to pick a friend that claimed he was already in a taxi only to find out he had not left his home :)

It quite bizarre to read about the electricity failures in Venezuela and I wish you guys are able to get out of it somehow.

Lastly, do have great weeekend!
