Hey there. You're probably stressed out from a long week at work and running around and maintaining your life.
Sundays are a fantastic day to relax and recuperate. Think about all you've accomplished this week. Take time to think about all of the wonderful opportunities this fresh week can bring. Watch TV. Clean your room. Blast music. Do whatever you want. Drink wine. Get Buzzed. Reflect on your past week and how amazing it is that you're alive and in this world.
This day of rest is what Dr. Matthew Sleeth, author of 24/6: A Prescription for a Healthier, Happier Life, calls a “stop day"—to cease from all work. “When we're constantly going,” Dr. Sleeth tells CNN, “we pour out chemicals to try to meet those stresses. We have short-term stress hormones like adrenaline, and longer-term hormones like the steroids that we pour out.” When we deprive ourselves of a “stop day,” we’re denying our bodies a chance to slow down those hormones and reset.
