Scripted Series

I always blame myself for not watching scripted series.  Seriously, there is a wealth of TV shows out there, I mean lots of  them.  I could count the number of shows on Netflix unwatched.

I have problem with watching scripted TV shows and it probably has to do with having ADHD.  With all of the things that I could be watching, I become overwhelmed in the selection of TV shows out there.

The problem about watching scripted TV shows is that I either become bored because I do not find the TV show stimulating enough or more likely, I have to fight my inattention problem to sit down and watch TV show for 60 minutes.

It serious takes a lot of mental effort to sit down and watch the show and hold my attention. It is seriously challenging exercise.  Ask me to run nine miles and I tell you "Yeah I can do that". Ask me to run payroll for 40 employees without making mistake and I say "Yeah I can do that". Ask me to read 50 pages of political history book of modern history and I would say "Yeah I can do that"

Even read a Game of Thrones Novel. "Yeah I can do that".

But to watch an eposide of "New Girl" or watch a two hour movie. I would say "No, I could do that"

If asked me to watch a movie as a social activtiy with friends, yeah I could do that. For me, it takes making watching a TV a social activity with friends (which I was easier when I was living in sober living or when my friend Seth had move nights at his house). Or date night with TV series- the answer is "Hell Yes".

In conclusion, watching a TV is more communal activity than something I do alone.  My preference is to be alone and watch my Youtube political videos than to watch scripted series.  And also, never is no watercooler talk where I work. I only work with one coworker (which is my boss or her niece). And we do not talk about watercooler stuff because we are small business with a lot of employees to manage and a lot of things to do.

And on Metrolink? Forget it. Nobody talks to strangers on the train anymore.
