Bought my first EOS tokens! And enjoy this nice squash blossom! :)steemCreated with Sketch.

in life •  7 years ago

Yesterday I used Changelly.com to trade 1 ETH for almost 387 EOS tokens. Right now, 1 ETH is worth $304.51, so that's about 79 cents each. For those who don't know, EOS is Dan Larimer's next project; we are communicating right now on his latest one, Steemit (hence the use of that tag).

I followed this guide, and set up the Exodus wallet on my laptop, then did the first purchase.

That wallet doesn't require downloading the blockchain, it seems. Not sure I like that or not... I also don't like that I can't copy from the Wallet's EOS tab, so I had to retype the exact number of tokens for my work log.

Anyway, just a short update to inform that the guide linked above worked!

I still need to "register" my EOS tokens, which this page describes.

I have time to do it, but I should do it soon so I don't forget. I'll write myself a note: done.

Enjoy!

Well, there it is. The first troll I have actually seen on here, and his screenname is "berniesanders." On here being a hateful jerk... way to represent the loving liberal socialists... So much hate and jealousy in one short little post is sort of impressive... Sorry he aimed it at someone as sweet as you. my teethy friend.

Thanks. And, LOL at your ending.

Why? Because for the past couple weeks, I've been wanting to change my profile picture to a close-up of my mouth, after writing "LI" "BE" RT" Y!" on the top front four teeth.

But, I haven't determined what to write with, or whether it'll be permanent. :) And, I'm camera shy here as well.

I like your analysis as well, his name is truly fitting. Hopefully he can learn from his violent behavior and the reactions he's getting, like I did with @sift666 a week or two ago.

Something like this I suppose, although I used mspaint to draw it rather than a marker. :)

Liberty Teeth.png

LOL! Love it! And great pic, you have very nice lips and mustache edges framing those teeth... I assume there is the rest of a human attached? ;)

Haha, if it wasn't attached, I'd leave it somewhere! :)

Okay, it's basically the right size for my profile pic. :)

Just had to add some whitespace at the top and bottom, and now it fits mostly correctly: https://steemit.com/@libertyteeth

LOL! I could not see the forest for the trees for a minute. I was looking for it to be your icon pic, took me a minute see it! Duh! Very nice, taking a bite out of tyranny...

:) Thanks! I redid it, using a softer brush so it looks a little less photoshopped. :)

Yeah now I need to find another avatar icon picture ("profile picture" in the Settings), will wait for inspiration. :)

What was the reason this was flagged? I dint see any issue with this?

Kind of wondering that, too. Almost looks like a bot downvoted it based on the pictures used. Although I don't see anything wrong with the pics themselves...

Replied to @williams858 with this: "@otage figured out why, see his comment and my response below."

Register tokens? What's that all about. I bought some (unfortunately before the crash but I'm still pretty happy) and transferred to my Trezor. What's this talk about registering?

See the link I posted, I haven't done it yet so I'm not really sure about it. The link: http://support.exodus.io/article/65-i-ve-received-eos-tokens-in-exodus-how-do-i-register-them

What I do know: if you don't register the tokens, then they won't convert when the real EOS coins are available. Right now, "EOS tokens" are just coins derived on the ETH (Ethereum) blockchain. They'll switch post-ICO to their own tokens, and if you don't register them, then you probably will lose your investment.

@libertyteeth just did some research on why you were flagged and it looks like you wandered onto a battlefield!

Smart decision man i think eos can rise at least 10x for the next year

Sounds good. Did you claim your Steemit free Pocket tokens? I think That Pocket is going to be so much fun to observe.

No, and I just saw a post about the Pocket tokens. Apparently everyone gets a million of them, and can get more for upvoting that guy's post (don't recall the guy).

Seems a way to send "money" to people just by making a comment, which its bot watches, and then responds to. Not sure that's the right approach; a bot might miss comments. If I send via the "Wallet" feature I know it'll happen. Still, I might claim them! :)

nice information @libertyteeth, i hear EOS is good, i should try it, thanks for sharing

Cheers, a wise investment :)! Got about 280 tokens myself, but not done yet ^.^

"Not done yet" love it! Me either, especially with this new stalker. I intend to mention EOS in every post I make, LOL.

Nice flower :)

What would happen if you purchased the EOS tokens and didn't 'register' them? I have some in my Exodus wallet, but I haven't registered them either.

Yeah, my understanding is if you don't register, they won't be converted to the "real EOS coins" that will be developed (or, released) after the ICO.

Sounds like a good deal in exchange for 1 ETH. By the way @jerrybanfield predicted that EOS will continue to go down for a while because the token supply keeps increasing but definitely a great long term hold. Thanks for the link to the guide and info on exodus. Pretty pretty flower!!

"EOS is selling so many tokens every day that the price will keep dropping to under $0.50 by the end of September as the first investors sell and fewer new investments come in."

Nice, thanks! My plan is to make small purchases over time, so I'll definitely check his post out!

Dan larimer must be a genius.

nice

Good luck with EOS. I think it has a great future.

Did not know about this guide, thanks for sharing :) Not sure whether I want to invest in EOS or not, but somewhere deep inside my gut tells me not to buy.

Follow your gut feeling. Did you know that you have neurons not only in your brain, but also in your heart and in your gut? So, "I have a gut feeling about this" means your gut is communicating with your brain, to help you make better decisions!

I find that fascinating. "My heart's not in this" or "Follow your heart" -- again, indicates that another thinking structure is helping you determine the right course. Not necessarily, "the most logical course", but, the right one, for you.

i do not know much about this EOS .

Dan is the man! Can't wait for EOS going main-net - I bet the Eos team has some nice surprises for us!

@dan

a great choice that was :)

pretty nice move as eth seems to be on a low side :)

Heh, well, I bought them with BTC so I "converted" my BTC to EOS at a rather expensive price. :) Still, I think it's got more potential than ETH right now!

i never bought eos but might consider it thanks for the post :)

You're welcome! And, if you decide to make a post sharing your experience which ends up being downvoted by that idiot, please let me know and I'll do what I can to help undo his brat pack's downvotes.

wow many congratulations @libertyteeth :)

@libertyteeth This is awesome! Love it.

There's lots of ppl downvoting ur post somehow. J

Yeah, @otage figured out why, and I've begun to fight back. Hopefully, I'm done fighting back. If they persist, then they'll experience consequences.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Be careful and try not to get involved too much. Some ppl explained a whale fight going on. They're really big (1.5m sp+ maybe more). They could just downvote every post or comment of u without caring about payout.
J

They could, and perhaps they will. I'm not antagonizing anybody; I'm not stalker-downvoting him like he did to me. I'll stand my ground, like Tom Petty. And if necessary, I can fund my account some more, or make my exit and find someplace else to write. I do like this place, apart from the abusive behavior I've now been exposed to twice.

Are they downvoting so that people don't register their EOS tokens?

I don't know the origin of the squabble, myself, but I don't think it's that -- Bernie is mad at Dan for some reason, and decided to downvote anybody who discusses Dan's next project.

Bernie is not right in the head, is my layman's analysis.
