In the Crimea, not far from Yalta, there is the village of Zaprudnoe. The Tatar name is Degermenka. It spreads over the hills at the foot of the Babugan-Yaila Mountain. On these hills, Lebanese cedars grow. Their cones ripen for three years. The first year the trees bloom and by the end of summer little melons grow, but ripen only the third.

В Крыму не далеко от Ялты, есть село Запрудное. Татарское название - Дегерменкой. Оно раскинулось по холмам у подножия горы Бабуган-яйлы. На этих холмах растут ливанские кедры. Их шишки созревают три года. Первый год цветут деревья и к концу лета вырастают меленькие шишки, а созревают только на третий.

Мы решили поэкспериментировать и посадить ливансикй кедр у нас в Днепре. Для этого надо было залезть на кедр и сорвать созревшую шишку, это у нас получилось. Семена у него - маленький треугольный орешек, маслянистые и очень горькие.
