Some people never learn.

When I was a small child,
my father found me in the yard, feeding the squirrels.

He sat me down, and asked me, "do you like the squirrels?"

I remember being slightly confused by the question. "Yes" I said.

He said, "if you feed them, they will have more babies,
and they'll need more food. Then, if you are not here to feed them,
some of their babies will starve, and it will be your fault,
because if you hadn't fed them their babies wouldn't be so numerous."

I cried. I cried because I could see, in my mind,
baby squirrels starving slowly and painfully to death,
because I enjoyed feeding them,
and even thought I was doing the right thing.

This was perhaps a bit harsh to do to the mind of a child,
but it made an impression that stuck with me.

What I eventually learned, was to be judicious about who,
what, when, where, why, and how you help others.
You never know when, you might not be helping.

It's ok to help those in need. If we don't help each other what kind of a world would this be.

Agreed.

If though, within our best intentions, we still cause harm, we would be better to more carefully
consider who, what, when, where, why, and how to help others.

The picture with the old woman is priceless. Thank you

It's really just the foreign extension of the domestic welfare state, that, even when it is not completely corrupt, makes things worse by robbing individuals of moral agency, and motivation to achieve success. I don't think anyone has to starve, but robbing the successful to subsidize failure is not a winning strategy.

This is why I believe the UN needs to be completely defunded. They are the largest providers of foreign aid. They are propping up the African population with unsustainable numbers. One day the money will run out and what then? Billions of Africans and no agriculture to sustain them. We will see a refugee crisis 10 to 100 times as worse as now. I believe this is their plan: flood western countries with these people. They want it to happen and this is how they'll do it. Sick folk.

Agreed.
