Leaving Steemit Seems More And More Attractive.

Thinking about something to post.
what should i post? What is it that steemians value?
I'll tell you this, it most times is like pouring your heart out along with your hard work onto this digital page,
only to have it all swallowed up within a few minutes, never to be seen again.
Then I scroll down and see someone making hundreds of dollars for a photo of a fly on a leaf.
I'm not sure this is the place for me.
Does anyone know of a platform that might find value in any of the information that i've compiled over decades? Eschewing social life, learning being so much more interesting than small talk,
entranced with the written word, I want to be able to join in the joy of learning with others.
I can go back to doing nothing but reading.
There is, however, the value of the sounding board effect.
Mostly replies seem to put people on the defensive.
Don't get me wrong, there are some decent people here.
Making post after post, that I know no one even looked at,
seems to be a waste of the time I could be learning.
So tell me steemit, what do you care about?
Snark and one-upsmanship, or just pretty pictures, or just having a group?
Something else entirely, maybe.
Who”s going to notice this anyway?
Replies are where the action is but, it is unsustainable.
Any suggestions?
I'm sure a good many people would be ok with me leaving.
I need to find some more reason to stay.
Money would be nice but I see now that monetary success on steemit is not for everyone.
It would be cool if I could get people to look at my posts even
if just to tell me how much they suck.

i've run into almost no one who is actually interested in learning. most are just espousing what they think they already know. i can learn faster, better on my own. i thought this might be a place where speculation is welcome. i see now it's mostly about telling others they are wrong. thanks for the comment and at least looking at the post. you are one of the few, that have allowed me to stay this long.

I would like to read your posts, your never to old to learn something new, I will follow you for future posts :)

thank you. i don't want to leave my awesome followers in the lurch but my learning process is stagnating. i'll hang on as long as i can. if anything interests you let me know, i'll try to do more.

I have been told to hang in there Steemit is still new and there's more to come, its growing everyday, don't give up now. I only post around once a day try cutting back to give yourself a break but still stick around :)

i'll see what i can do. thanks for the support.

Would be a shame to stop now :) take care what whatever you decide

Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on.

just trying to be true to myself, wherever i am. thanks.

I have the same feeling. There is a theory of justice that states when people see the others receive more for less or even no effort they just stop to do their best as it hardly will be rewarded.

i have thought about submitting some lazy crap but then i would feel the same way about myself that i feel about fly on a leaf. i don't know. maybe i'll try every other one. value, crap, value, crap. thanks for the comment.

No, please don't put crap on steemit ! In this case you will be the same as 'well knows whales friends' . And besides I gonna follow you, and I don't like crap :) Put something interesting but use catchawhale.com and steemvp.com to choose publishing time. And maybe it is better to try some short and long articles. I wrote somewhat about publishing time here https://steemit.com/steem-help/@stranger27/how-to-get-know-own-time-to-post-articles-on-steemit. Maybe it will be interesting for you.

i will leave before i will crap on steemit. enough of that already. i've been checking out the best times to post. i just need to learn how to generate interest. to be true i'd rather get replies than money. money is not bad but, interaction with smart people is better. paying the bills is good though.

Why not to join both things together? :)

This is a great article. Thanks for sharing. Happy to upvote. I sympathize with what you are saying. I have been here for about a month and have made some good posts that I share elsewhere and people are making a lot of money from what I am saying. But here it's like I feel as though I am wasting my time. I can relate to the $100's for a fly picture. The best one I saw was over $20 for a picture of a burger..!! As someone as suggested you have to keep at it. I am happy to give it at least a year and see how the followers come in. Now following and looking forward to reading more of your posts. My advice. Stick at it. Cheers. Stephen

thanks for the view and the vote and especially the encouragement. i should start a top 10 list of least value for most money. it would be entertaining at least. i would settle for replies. since money was a long shot and now the number of votes is getting less. thanks for the comments.

I agree with 'you have to keep at it.' with one ammendment: you should try every time something new untill you get desired result, just like Thomas Edison.

you're one of my favorite people on steem, it would suck if you left. i cant argue with your post as a lot of it is how i feel too.

you're one of the friends i've made here. i don't know what i'm going to do about a decision right now. i do have to keep looking for a job, and my learning process is suffering. it is just so easy to fall into having fun battling trolls. i'm going to stick to it for a bit and see if i make any headway. i might have to cut it down to every other day.

thanks for the post and the link, i didn't know that was happening.

I dig your posts and you are one of my fav steemitness peeps. I'm sticking to writing for writing sake and just seeing where it will go. Doing it for me but the story I'm doing now is deeply personal and I hope it resonates with others. If not... I'll reread it when I'm 98. peace.

much thanks. i didn't know very many were looking. i thought that by next week i was going to have to run around with no pants on, just to get some attention. it's good to know someone is out there.

I think with this post having 0.00 payout you could take part in contest
