Five Bullet Fridays #9

in life •  8 years ago  (edited)

Hi All!

Here is your weekly dose of “Five Bullet Friday,” a list of what I’m enjoying or pondering. I was inspired by Tim Ferriss's Five Bullet Friday and this will be my 9th one in the series.

Updates
I've been busy with a lot of pondering, reading, and podcast listening. I'm getting to some very complex ideas that I don't think that I would be able to post about in a while, at least not in a sufficiently accurate way. I can only give glimpses into what I'm dealing with, but there are some very powerful ideas involved. This is a transitional phase in my philosophical understanding of the world. I've encountered a whole new level of complexity that more accurately describes the nature of the universe, technology, and human interactions.

Particularly, I'm working on a new metapolitical theory based on network theory and game theory.
Here's my poetic hint at what it encompasses:

All the world’s a network,
And all the men and women merely nodes;
They have dynamic stochastic payoff functions,
And each node contains multiple parameters.

Thoughts on the metaphysics of memes and trolling
Just when we think that the War on Drugs is finally going to end, the War on Memes is declared. The State hates altered states of consciousness and pleasure. This is the amplification of Gamergate. All will be lost if humor gets censored.

Desire for memes is an important expression of Universal Will according to Arthur Schopenhauer. The best we can hope for is the momentary respite from will and frustration through the contemplation of memes.
Memes give us direct access to ultimate reality, as well as distance us from the relentless throb of the Will.
To meme is to be conscious. I meme, therefore I exist. Hillary, your Will is one that defies the very nature of reality. Only aesthetic memes can extract us from the world of the willing.

Schopenhauer gave me a deeper understanding of why I desire memes so much and that trolling is a necessary component of reality that follows causality. Trolling demonstrates the concept of perception, which is of not only the senses but also of the intellect. Therefore, to troll is to know through the understanding of causality.

I've never seen a consistent definition of what is the Alt Right, but I basically completely disagree with the views represented in the definition of the Alt Right claimed by the Left. Yet by being amused by memes, strawman making fear mongers with tin foil hats will probably try to lump me in with them any way. The defense of free speech is more necessary than ever, and this includes defending those who you disagree with.

Podcast I'm listening to
The Adam Morgan Show

This guy's life is so similar to mine that it's unbelievable. He's a deep thinker who shares many of my views, experiences, and interests. I listened to 5 different episodes from him in a row at double speed as soon as I discovered him.

What I am reading
I am reading lettes by JRR Tolkien on Anarchy.
To supplement this to have a deeper metaphysical understanding, I also started reading Schopenhauer's The World as Will and Representation.
I arrived here from listening to the Tom Woods Show episode 720: Mythology, Tolkien, and Liberty, as well as the MartyrMade Podcast, which I have mentioned in previous Five Bullet Fridays. It's very interesting to see the importance of mythology in propagating ideas and how this affects big events and movements in history.

Thanks for reading! Have a wonderful weekend,

I know that I haven't uploaded a new lesson in a few weeks, but it's on my to-do list. It's just not as much of a priority as developing the metapolitical theory and a few other secret projects that I won't reveal yet.

Great post, I really enjoy Tim's Five Bullet Friday emails. I'm a huge Tolkien fan (and own Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien), and didn't realize he addressed anarchy. I actually have a map of middle earth up in my office!

Tolkien talked a lot about Anarchy, you can see the theme running deep in a lot of his works as well. Musk also mentioned that Tolkien had a big influence on his thoughts and ideas when he was much younger in South Africa. It made him want to help more people in the world. Solve big problems etc.
