They laughed, they danced, they were merry and had the right to anyways because it was a celebration ~ A matriculation celebration.

Matriculation day in my school has different meanings to different people.

• To the school authorities it's a time to showcase their friendly side with the students, flaunting their excellent educational standards to the visitors, security guards here and there, electricity uninterrupted, restaurants up and running and of course to get a bulk load of money from the matriculation gowns given to the matriculants.

To some of the male species, it's a time to get tons of chicks, as a lot of girls would want to look and act their best to fit in. They would want to gather ;girlfriends, side-chick, wife material , Valentine babe, party babe, Class babe, cooking babe ~ a babe got all seasons.

And some come to celebrate and rejoice with the celebrants these would be mostly parents and siblings from outside the vicinity.

Some like me come both to rejoice and to announce to them that they have began a 5 year long journey, one in which if they wish to emerge from happily; must start excelling right from the little things like assignments and tests , work hard and praying always.

•I and some of the matriculants I tutored in biology and physics when they first came to LAUTECH.

With my friend(also a steemian @gloriabest) and I waiting to give them final words of admonishion for the day.

Quite a number of us gathered under different tents to tell them this. As we knew TO BE A LAUTECH STUDENT IS NO JOKE

Alot of color could be seen today as the sun shone radiantly making everything look new and shiny( well in theory they are all new lol) and there was a lot to see. Things and people you would normally only see at specific places, people you didn't know were still in the school premises.

Everybody came out today and there's a story behind each picture.

•These are the stands for clubs.. Like Ibadan club, Igbo clubs.. Etc

•The ice cream stands were spotted at every corner .

•Home made freshly baked bread by the hard working women and men of LAUTECH BAKERY

•Photographers from all walks of life were there ready for action and beckoning people to their stands and figurines to take pictures.
•And so much more..
