Slightly different from my usual content, but a few years ago I was doing a brief trip to Morocco with the military.
Most of it was pretty busy and most of what I saw was sand, sand, and more sand in the areas we were in, but towards the end of our trip we got a day to walk into the city of Agadir. It was really interesting to see the contrast of certain parts of it's neighborhoods from the slums, to the bazaar, and then finally a beach that would make you swear you were in California. Major, major economic differences from block to block.
At the bazaar I found this older fellow carving away at wood and making all kinds of cool stuff. The thing that stuck out most to me was this mask, so I bought it from him and took it home, and it hangs on my wall to this day.
As far as food goes, this was the first meal I had that wasn't an MRE in a long time, so it tasted pretty good to me. I don't know what it was called, just that it was basically goat meat and potatoes and some veggies.
You're probably wondering where my usual cat content is, huh? Don't despair.
One thing I learned about Morocco is they seem to really love cats. Cats were everywhere....and I mean everywhere.
Cats begging and being cute for food.
Cats in the beach side restaurants...
Hell, I walked into a bar with cats sleeping on the bar stools (sorry for the blurriness there, but I was in a bit of a hurry).
So if you want to know who truly owns Morocco? It's cats.
Maybe one day I'll visit again on non-official business.
Cats step with both left legs, then both right legs when they walk or run.
