Be Visionary and Lead the Way to Success

Defined in simple terms, a visionary is someone who is able to visualize the future. For some groups, this may involve the paranormal. For other groups, it may simply mean a person who sees more than the average person does. Regardless of what group you belong to, there are things that visionaries do on a daily basis that greatly benefit the world. These individuals are truly leaders.


Some individuals in our society would much rather be doing things that benefit people but are not really "in the know." These people sit in front of their computers and play video games instead of helping to improve the state of the health systems in their communities. While video games and other computer related activities might entertain a person for a time, these activities have no real-world applications. This is why some groups have created visionary boards that are used to give these people the chance to change the status quo.

By creating visionary boards, these individuals are giving themselves a chance to step out of their comfort zones and see what is possible. By stepping outside of their comfort zone, the individual will be able to make crucial decisions that can have a huge impact on the health system. Many times, these decisions are not popular, but they are necessary if the health system is to continue moving forward. For many in our society, standing firm on principles and refusing to conform to the status quo is not always easy. However, if an individual is truly committed to improving the health system, then they should be willing to stand firm on their beliefs no matter what they may be viewed as.

To create visionary boards, the groups must first decide what they wish to accomplish through the creation of these boards. Once they have determined their goals and the steps needed to reach them, they can begin to design the boards. However, they need to remember to keep their goals realistic. In addition to the goals that are listed on their vision boards, they also need to consider potential obstacles along the way. By addressing potential obstacles, these individuals will be able to avoid having their vision boards fall apart and allow the status quo to move forward.

There are some characteristics that all good visionaries possess. Some of these include; they are able to think strategically, they are innovative, they are problem solvers, they have a sense of humor, and they have high vision. In order to be a good visionary, these leaders must be leaders. Although some leaders possess all of these traits, they are not necessarily leaders. In order for them to be a leader, they need to take on leadership roles themselves and get others to join in on their vision.

Another trait of visionary leaders is the ability to listen effectively. Good leaders must be able to listen carefully to what their followers have to say. They should then use this information to determine what their next step should be. Most of the time, these followers would be pleased with whatever decision the leader makes because they know that their opinions were heard. If a visionary leader does not hear all of their suggestions, they may lose focus and fail to achieve their goals.

Many people confuse visionary leadership with visionary planning. However, there are huge differences between these two leadership styles. While planning may help the group come together to achieve a common goal, visionary leadership focuses on inspiring others to action. The work toward achieving a vision will involve brainstorming, analysis, and then implementing ways in which to move the group in a positive direction.


Being a visionary leader is a very challenging job. Not only do you have to be good at listening to your followers and acting accordingly, but you also need to be effective in your planning and in inspiring others to action. If you are able to combine all of these aspects into one, you are likely to have a very successful career in the field of business administration.
