My parents divorced when i was 9 years old. They both went on to remarry other people. 30 years later my Mom's husband Bob passed away and my Dad and stepmom Barb divorced. When i went and stayed with my Mom over Christmas my Dad came down from Canada to visit with me. It just so happens that on that visit he and my Mom reconnected and realized they wanted to spend time together again. I introduced them to Google Hangouts and they have been meeting up every Sunday and sending emails back and forth. And now i come to find out they have planned a play date in Spokane which is halfway in between them for a couple days next week.
Dad is pretty grounded in Canada where he lives and Mom is set in Washington where she lives. Neither one is interested in moving so they have decided to accept and make the most of their emails, hangouts and occasional visits. They are both grateful for the catalyst i was in bringing them closer.

This is such a cool and inspiring story! It’s interesting how life takes people apart and then they reconnect again. I’ve always said you can’t go into the same water twice... but this is different because it’s not actually the same “water”. Years go by, and we change and grow as human beings, hopefully finding and developing our true “self”.

It was so funny to introduce them to hangouts. They were both confused and overwhelmed but their desire to communicate with each other overcame all obstacles.
