The Kuna Love Project: Building Casitas and the Campaign

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

Building homes in the ancient manner of the Kunas is an important way to preserve a culture that's in danger of being watered down into mainstream society.

Totally sustainable, naturally available materials.

Trees are not killed but harvested from.

Homes are built side by side, in the ancient manner of the indigenous.

Neighbors are family and family are neighbors.

Donate your support to this project through assisting with
funding and/or traveling out to the islands as a volunteer to learn
the building methods and participate in the evolution
of any and all aspects of this grassroots project.

You are invited to support the
Kuna Love fundraiser
for keeping this community alive and teaching us
while preventing their ancient and core ways
from being watered down into mainstream society.

@loveon Really very good post.

Very grateful for the feedback. I really love sharing my experiences of these people.

Keep your Steem on!

interesting...

yes, it is.

Welcome to steemit!

I would love to build and live in one of those houses! Sustainability is the only things that makes sense---

Trees are not killed but harvested from.

Duh!!!! Americans (and many many other cultures) have a lot to learn!! Thanks for tuning into the possibilities and passing them on.

I'm sure there will be space for you, my sister. Sharing this life with you would be a dream come true.

If these cultures are lost it will be a sad thing. They have so much to share with us. I feel a bit anxious because everyday that goes by they lose more of who they are. A few days ago I asked Fabio about the Kuna creation story and he says he is ashamed to say he does not know. But, I will learn.

Grateful to see you Steemin on my blog!

I have no doubt you will hear that story, and likely share it many times over. That will be an interesting post!!!!

Glad to be here with you @loveon--even if I"m not there and you're not here! <3

I know how to frame houses here in America, but I would have no clue how to work with those materials. Looks awesome though, keep up the good work!

We need volunteers as well as donations. If you're up for a mind blowing experience book your flight to Panama asap and join us. You will be building alongside the Kuna guys and learning straight from them.
