How Vipassana Meditation Changed My Life

Over the past few years I have heard a lot about how meditation changes your life for the better. However, I was still a little confused as to how it would impact my life. The first thoughts that came to mind were things like how I could afford to do it, if I would be able to handle the stress, if I could even find the time to do it. While these are all valid concerns you should not put off any of them. If you're anything like me you already know how busy you can be and how little time you have to devote to things.


I started taking vipassana meditation a little over a year ago, I had been feeling a little sluggish the entire time. I decided that this would be the perfect time for me to give it a shot and really make a difference in my life. There are many people that will testify that they actually experience a drastic change after taking the course. I was skeptical at first because it seemed like it would be very hard to keep up with but once I got started I could not believe how good I felt.

It has taken a little time and a little bit of hard work but I have to tell you that it has changed my life for the better. I used to experience a lot of anxiety, mood swings, lack of focus and just general dissatisfaction. Since I began taking vipassana meditation I have not experienced any of these and I am having more peace and happiness. I have more energy and I sleep better. I am also healthier and I just feel so much better.

The thing that changed my life the most was that I no longer worry about so many things. When I first started meditating I thought that I would be a little stressed out, but it turned out that I was stressed out by all the ways in which life was trying to stress me out. It was like I was always looking for something wrong. The more I meditated the more calm I became. When you are meditating, it allows you to stop yourself from worrying about the past or the future and just focus on the present.

So I decided that if I was going to find out how vipassana meditation changed my life then I should start with how it changed my health. As soon as I began to meditate I started to get a better nights sleep and I also didn't get sick as often as I used to. I also don't get colds and coughs that I used to. There are so many amazing health benefits to meditating. I was in a perfect mood all the time and always felt so light and happy. It is like you start to see life in a different way and you have more patience for things.


Then I heard about the power of pranayama, which is breathing exercises. Pranayama is a form of meditation that has been practiced for hundreds of years in India. I had never really thought much about it until I learned how vipassana meditation changed my life. If you have ever tried to meditate but never got any results then you really need to try this out. You will be so surprised at how relaxed and refreshed you will feel.
