Love yourself
Learning to love yourself and be confident with your body is so important. That's why I want to share a few thoughts with you.
What we struggle with
In times of social media platforms like Instagram suggesting the perfect body and healthy lifestyle it's especially not easy competing with all the expectations on your appearance and life. A lot of people struggle with their own body because of some suggested perfect body types (you know -size zero or super curvy and also men with the 'perfect' toned body and six-pack). These images are bullshit. You don't have to look like one of them. The best thing you can have is a great charisma and a good self-confidence. If you struggle with thoughts like 'I'm too fat' - 'I'm too skinny' - 'I've got cellulite and stretch marks' - 'I hate my skin, I have acne' - always remember that there are so many people out there and there is no such thing as perfect. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Also remember, that even if you don't have the body which is suggested everywhere, you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in! No one has the right to tell you, what you can wear or what not.
Question your thoughts
Everyone is different and that's fucking great! Most of the images you see are edited with Photoshop - there are no stretch marks, no cellulite and always flawless faces and bodies. That's not reality. Please always ask yourself, when struggling with your body image, if it is really you that doesn't like certain things with yourself or do you only care what others think? And also there are a lot people with health issues. Like strong overweight which causes other health issues, suffering from depression or anorexia. And you too, are worthy of loving yourself. It's never a solution to hate yourself when trying to fight some of these illnesses.
I just got inspired to do a post like this by a fortune cookie I had a few days ago. It says: 'be nice to the face in the mirror'
It's a challenge to love yourself, but it's worth fighting for it. And if you want to change something about yourself, please ask yourself if you do it for you or for others.

Womit wir kämpfen
In Zeiten von sozialen Netzwerken wie Instagram, wo der 'perfekte Körper' suggeriert wird, ist es nicht einfach mit allen 'Erwartungen' anderer an dein Aussehen oder Leben mitzuhalten. Viele Menschen haben Probleme mit ihrem eigenen Körper, weil man immer wieder mit dem perfekten, erstrebenswerten Körper konfrontiert wird (ihr wisst schon - Size Zero oder super kurvig und auch Männer sollen muskulös sein und einen Six-Pack haben). Diese vermeintlichen Ideale sind Schwachsinn. Du musst nicht so aussehen. Das Beste, was man haben kann, ist eine tolle Ausstrahlung und Selbstvertrauen. Ob du mit Gedanken wie 'ich bin zu dick' - 'ich bin zu dünn' - 'ich habe Cellulite und Dehnungsstreifen' - 'ich hasse meine Haut mit seiner Akne' - oder ähnlichen kämpfst. Mach dir bewusst, dass es so etwas wie einen perfekten Körper nicht gibt. Schönheit liegt im Auge des Betrachters. Und auch wenn du nicht diesen vermeintlichen Ideal entsprichst darfst du die Kleidung tragen, in der du dich wohl fühlst! Niemand hat das Recht dir zu sagen, was du zu tun und zu lassen hast.
Hinterfrage deine Gedanken
Jeder Mensch ist anders und das ist verdammt toll! Die meisten Bilder, die man so sieht, sind mit Photoshop bearbeitet - dort gibt es keine Dehnungsstreifen, keine Cellulite und Haut und Körper sind immer perfekt. Das ist nicht die Realität. Wenn du an deinem Körper zweifelst, hinterfrage immer ob das wirklich du bist, der manche Dinge an dir nicht mag und ändern möchte, oder ist es dir nur wichtig was andere von dir denken? Und natürlich gibt es auch noch Menschen, die gesundheitliche Probleme haben. Wie zum Beispiel starkes Übergewicht, das zu gesundheitlichen Beschwerden führt, Depressionen oder Essstörungen wie Anorexie. Und auch du, bist es wert, dich selbst zu lieben. Es ist niemals eine Lösung sich selbst zu hassen, auch wenn du gegen diese Krankheiten kämpfst.
Es ist viel Arbeit, zu lernen, sich selbst zu lieben. Aber das ist es Wert, dafür zu kämpfen. Und wenn du etwas an dir ändern möchtest, hinterfrage immer, ob du es für dich oder andere tust.

I think it's getting harder and harder, tbh. I think I'm on a good way now but I always tended to compare myself to other and feel bad because my body isn't the ones suggested in media, also there are things about me, I would like to change. But I'm working on loving myself and I be in balance with my body. I already did some videos on this topic in my YouTube channel and due to the comments there are so many persons even hating themselves. A big problem is comparing yourself. I hope to empower all these persons struggling and spread some love here. ♥

It is hard, for all of us, because there is no average person. I think main thing is that we are not comparing, because we are unique in this world and we are priceless. I know back in school I was told that according to evolution, we are almost like dust in this World... Well in that case I want to be the most unique piece of dust ever existed.(NOT, that I believe evolution theory), but I like to think that we are created into this World with a purpose. Guten Tag Jess. Sehr gut! Yes, love thy self, warts and all! To add to this, even the most beautiful bodies are also subject to sickness, old age and death. The problem comes in with attachment. In my opinion, it is fine to appreciate beauty, but being attached to beauty somehow is what causes problems. I'll leave you with two quotes, they seem to be a contradiction but I think there is a certain truth to both of them.

That's right. The Oscar Wilde is from The Picture of Dorian Gray. Thinking about it, I went and read that part, and it's what Lord Henry says to Dorian Gray. IMO it's what starts the corruption in him, so I take back what I said, if anything can ever be unsaid :) It seems rather it is a profound and alluring delusion.

Ich kann mich mit alldem sehr gut identifizieren und habe auch meine Momente, in denen ich gerne keine Cellulite mehr, einen flachen Bauch und größere rundere Brüste hätte. Aber dann besinne ich mich auf die Erkenntnisse, die ich in den letzten Monaten machen durfte und zwar:
Wir sollten unserem Körper dankbar sein für alles, was er für uns tut. Mit ihm navigieren wir durch diese Welt und es macht ihn nicht besser oder schlechter, ob er Cellulite hat oder nicht. Wichtig ist, dass wir gut zu ihm sind, damit er gesund und stark bleibt, damit wir das Leben in vollen Zügen genießen können.
Wir sollten unser wunderbares Wesen nicht auf unseren Körper reduzieren. Wir sind so viel mehr als das. Unsere Taten in der Welt machen uns aus und nicht, wie wir aussehen. Welchen Wert bringen wir in die Welt, wenn wir uns ständig nur mit Materiellem beschäftigen. Stattdessen sollten wir unser Potenzial nutzen, um anderen zu helfen und etwas Positives in der Welt zu bewirken.
Jeder Mensch ist richtig so, wie er ist. Natürlich sind wir alle auf unserem Weg und möchten an einer besseren Version von uns arbeiten und das ist auch gut so. Aber dabei geht es um so viel mehr als das Körperliche. Selbstakzeptanz kann man auch gut üben, indem man andere genauso akzeptiert wie sie sind. Und akzeptiert, dass jeder seinen individuellen Weg geht, der von außen nicht beurteilt werden kann.

People do not like thick and pimply for one simple reason: these are signs of disease. The notion of beauty comes from assessing their health and the ability to give good children. So unconsciously we are repelled by asymmetrical faces, an abundance of moles, acne or creases on the abdomen.

You might be right by that. But you should always remember, that health comes in different sizes. And acne or other skin problems have different causes, it doesn't mean you are not healthy. Often it's even an imbalance of hormones (e.g. when stop taking contraception hormones, I witnessed it unfortunately by myself) Of course, if you are strongly overweight the risks of getting health problems are higher. But what's suggested in the media as the perfect "body" isn't associated with health, in my opinion. Mostly I associate these bodies with eating disorders like bulimia or anorexia - but that's also one kind of body shaming which I don't want to support either. Just because you are thin, this doesn't mean you are healthy (e.g. when you stop eating properly there are lots of vitamins which are lacking and for your fertility it's also not good) and on the other side people who have a few pounds more than a mannequin in the shopping center, it doesn't mean you aren't healthy. What's important for me is, that you nevertheless should love yourself. Even if you suffer from an eating disorder or want to lose weight. And also if you are naturally thin, that's totally fine. I don't want to say that every thin person is unhealthy, that's not true either. Sure, if you have health issues you should think about changing your lifestyle. But no one (except your family or close friends) should interfere with that or should force you to do so. Your body is no ones business, but yours.
