Why journaling?

In my opinion, one of the greatest tragedies of the modern life is living without introspection, which means, basically, living in reaction to everything that is happening to us or around us.

I want to propose to you today a great solution for this problem: journaling. Journaling is a daily process, during which you are able to examine and evaluate your personal life in a written form. It's a good way to examine your mistakes and the progress you have made. How can you progress without examening your character, the process of making decisions, your marriage, your parenting style?

I encourage you to take a diary, or just a simple notebook, and start with the words: "Today..." at the end of every day, or "Yesterday..." if you choose to do this next morning, and then write briefly about the people you have met, the decisions you have taken, the thoughts and feelings you have had, the things that brought you fulfillment or frustration etc. Then start analizing: are the decisions you have made good decisions? Did you spend your time well or did you waste it? Etc.

Other things that I encourage you to write in your journal is thoughts, ideas and impresions that come during the time you spend with God. In those quiet moments that you spend listening to God's voice, He can give you revelations about yourself, about people, about Him etc. These revelations are a vital part of your growth, so I encourage you to write them down in your journal. They can be life to your weary soul and body someday!

Evaluating the way you spend your days, prevents you from doing the same mistakes all over again, helps you on the way to a better and improved you and keeps you from living in reaction to what is happening.

Why not start doing it today? It might feel awkward at first, but I can guarantee it to you that if you'll keep doing it, the will reap the benefits.

Journaling is essential in my morning routine, just five minutes of randomness. It helps me take whatever chaos is going on and at least organize it into line-by-line chaos instead of a nonsensical cloud. Thanks for the post!

good advice! the diary of skill already exists, it remains only to begin to fill it))
