There was a teenager asking his grandfather: "Grandpa, what's the point of me reading Al Qur'an, while I do not understand the meaning and intent of the Al Quran I read". Then the grandfather replied calmly:
"Try to grab this wastebasket and take it to the river, and bring me with a basket of water. "
The boy did as his grandfather had commanded, but all the water he had carried down had fallen before he got home.
His grandfather said:
"You should try faster"
Grandpa asked his grandson back to the river. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty (without water) before reaching home.
He said to his grandfather:
"There's no way I can bring a basket of water. I want to replace it with a bucket ". "I want a basket of water, not with a bucket" Grandpa replied.
The boy tried again, and ran faster. But still failed as well. The water stayed out before he got home. The basket remains empty. "Grandpa ... this is useless. Worth it. Water will definitely run out on the road before arriving home "
Grandpa replied:
"Why do you think this is useless? Take a look and take a good look at what happens with the basket "
The boy noticed the basket, and he realized that his dirty basket had turned into a NET basket, outside and inside. "My grandson, what happens when you read the Qur'an? Maybe you do not understand at all. But when you read it, without you knowing you will change, outside and inside. That is God's work in changing your life ...! "Subhanallah .. Nothing is futile when we read the Qur'an.
Let's read it more often. Though sometimes do not know its "meaning", but still have to try to understand its "meaning" "ALLAHUMMA Oh God bless our lives with the Qur'an, and make the Qur'an a priest, light, hidayah and grace for us and family we are ..Aamiin "
