This post is a bit of a disjointed ramble. But here goes.
One of my games. My opponent is making a game recording on his phone.
The local go club had a sauna evening hosted by one of the club members. I've learned not to bring up the crypto space as I've found it to be mostly pointless. From online privacy and monetization of digital identities by corporations, I have been astonished in the past by how unaware of and uninterested in alternatives people can be even if they are IT professionals. The negativity and FUD around Bitcoin and other cryptos is palpable. From time to time, however, I've had fruitful discussions with people who've had bad personal experiences.
Otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed meeting go club members again. The host has playing the piano as a hobby. He talked about the extremely simple structure of modern popular music and demonstrated a few things on the piano. He also talked about storytelling and the structure of dramatic presentation in music.
The four chord song.
The same song has been replaying for about 40-50 years now. It has been recomposed and rewritten thousands of times and performed more times than you care to think.
Leonard Cohen venting his frustration over composing popular music, not particularly circumspect about not willing to cast pearls before swine.
The challenge remains how to introduce the crypto space to new people. I've got the feeling that none of the wonderful new DApps using the Steem blockchain lately have been able to attract too many users outside the circles of people already interested in cryptocurrencies and blockchain projects. What kind of people do you think might be seriously interested in a Steem app targeted at their kind of user base this time? I mean, to me, it's a no-brainer that blogging is done on Steem or Wordpress with the SteemPress plugin. But how do you convince someone who thinks he'd be looking at earnings most likely negligible and who doesn't want to take the trouble of moving his butt over to using a Steem DApp? Would it take a number of kickass apps that just happen to be using Steem? Or do you think the very fact that a Steem account allows access to an entire ecosystem of apps is key? What do you think will draw in normies and cross the gap between early adopters and the majority?
Certainly you have a lot of reason it is very difficult to attract new users, personally I am constantly talking about Steemit how it works, the month of August I did a metup in the school of accountants and of 89 participants only 5 were included and I am still helping them , but unfortunately of the 5 now only 2 are fully active. the week of the application of the HF20 caused several to lose one more interest. and that I see reflected in the dynamics that I take every day to help a small community that in turn moderately direct it I see how of the 40 users and there is only an average of 25 that we are active. I still believe in steemit and I like it because of the economic situation I live. In my own flesh in my country.
Steemit at the very difficult times that I have had in an economical way has helped me settle a good part of that debt. Because those insignificant gains here in Venezuela are helpful.
