... and a few fun facts about our closest star: The Sun is with 4.6 billion years in the midst of her life. Since she has started to burn hydrogen to helium in her core, her luminosity has increased about 50% and her radius about 15%. Also, the effective surface temperature has risen from 5347°C to 5505°C. She is very interesting, because she took part in some exciting physical experiments. For example, scientists found that the neutrinos coming from the Sun oscillate between different types. That means that a electron neutrino from the core of the Sun can reach Earth as a muon neutrino. Furthermore, scientists could confirm the predictions from General Relativity by observing light rays which are deflected at the Sun 🌞

And of course, the Sun is responsible for life on Earth. Thanks, dear Sun!
