BBQ Ribs, Blue Potatoes, and Getting Matching Chainsaws

Is anyone else getting whiplash from the weird weather? Today it was 80 degrees here in Tennessee! What the hell? At the beginning of winter we had record low temperatures and now we're getting record high temperatures? I'm burning up and sweating but it's winter!

Anyways, even though it's been hot, my husband and I have enjoyed the break in the cold. My husband grilled out on the porch and made some amazing BBQ ribs. The store had blue potatoes on sale which was neat. I've never seen blue potatoes in our stores before so we got a bag to eat with the ribs. I made mashed potatoes, some asparagus, and spinach dip. It was a great meal and so colorful!

I love blue mashed potatoes.

I used the warm weather as a chance to tire my little one out. She's so wild these days! I've really wanted to take her on some outings to parks and other outdoor places. It was nice to take her outside to burn off some of that energy. I learned afterwards how much she loves ribs! She's got 6 teeth now and I can feed her pieces of meat. She also loves asparagus which is awesome! I'm planting a ton of it this spring so we can have lots of asparagus to eat.

My husband @magic-sasquatch has been obsessed with getting a chainsaw. I tried to talk him out of it but he was hell bent on getting a chainsaw. Apparently it's been a life long dream of his to own one. He ordered one off of Amazon. He was at the store the other day and saw little tiny plastic chainsaw toys for toddlers. He got our 16 month old a chainsaw too. He and our daughter unboxed them together when his arrived via UPS. Our daughter wasn't impressed. She's still too little and the chainsaw is a bit too big for her hands. He put hers away until she is bigger. Then, @magic-sasquatch went crazy cutting down trees in the yard. He's been gunning for one tree I love and I've had to stop him from chopping it to pieces.

I'll be happy if the weather cools off for a little longer. I'm not ready for it to be in the 80s. That's summer weather. I want a nice comfortable spring first.

A man need a chainsaw lol. You didnt show his chainsaw LOL.
Great story. Sorry my vote isnt very big anymore, Marx.

That's okay! My vote isn't very big anymore either. We stewards are back to where we started. I never cared about your vote anyways. I just am happy to read your nice comments.

In the meanwhile, it’s freezing in LA right now. And by freezing I mean it was like 50 degrees today.

lol. I'd say 50 degrees is pretty warm winter weather. At least it is here in the mountains. But I get it. When you are use to different climates different temperatures can be cold.

Blue mashed potatoes? Do they go well with green eggs and ham? That looks like some good eating, though, especially the spinach dip!

The 80's sounds lovely to me. I miss the heat of Spain. Cold, snow, and ice are pretty in photos, but I'd prefer sun and a Cruzcampo!

lol. I bet green eggs and ham would look really pretty. The spinach dip is my own recipe. Posted here if you want it

I hate being hot. I run hot so I enjoy the cooler months. I'd prefer nice snow and cold.

Fellow Tennessean here, and I would have to agree about the weather haha. I woke up this morning and put on my khaki pants and blazer, only to discover that mother nature had other plans for what I should be wearing today. Those blue potatoes look really interesting by the way, I have never seen those anywhere. Neat post, I just followed and checked out a few of your other blog posts as well. Look forward to reading more from you on here!

Hi Tennessee friend!! I had to pull out my flip flops and shorts to keep cool today! I once tried to grow blue potatoes but I had to buy them online. They are really pretty. Thanks for the follow. I'll keep an eye out for your posts.

belive me i feel so hungry. when i see BBQ i feel so hungry.

It was good BBQ!

i agree with you

It's actually gotten colder here lately...which is really strange...but a lot sunnier too! The baby chainsaw is so cute....lol. I have never seen blue potatoes before...but I have seen blue corn chips. <3

It is the most adorable little chainsaw!! I love blue corn chips. it's hard to find them here though. It seems like up north it's getting colder while down here it's getting hotter.

Maryland weather is the same...snow one day....80 degrees the next.....Blue mashed potatoes are really cool! Do they taste different?

I totally understand about the chainsaw. I have been wanting one for several years. Every time a gift giving opportunity comes along ... that chainsaw is at the top of my list. So far no one close to me has taken me seriously about it. Or maybe they have ... LOL

A break in the winter weather is nice, but 80 is a bit much! Glad you took advantage of it since it was there tho. That looks like a tasty dinner after a great day outside!

I love the baby chainsaw! When she starts playing with it be sure to get a daddy/daughter photo chainsaw wielding photo. One of the cutest photos that my bro's wife ever took of their kid was of him pushing a daddy-size lawn mower and their toddler pushing his lawn mower. I love that photo. They both look so intent! A total bonding moment.

What’s a dinner 🥘. I expect it tasted delicious. Today I am on the way to Belgium 🇧🇪. Super excited. The weather is cold but the sun is shining giving me a lot of energy and happiness. Have a wonderful day my dear friend.

Delicious recipe looking nice

Thanks a lot @marxrab You just made me hungry. Lovely photos. I love the one of your daughter playing in the yard. I think she is going to have green fingers just like her Mother. It’s great that she is eating asparagus at her age. Keep upnthe good work with getting her used to veggies. 🥒🥦🌽🌶🥕

I can't blame your daughter for loving ribs! Who doesn't? Your meal looks amazing. Love asparagus, but have never eaten blue potatoes...
