The past two days with our ducks has been really wonderful. I gave up trying to keep them in a pen while we build their duck coop. I've just been letting them free range it in the back yard during the day. They seem so happy being lose to eat bugs and grass. Now that they are free they are adjusting to me much better and have finally bonded nicely with me.

I've been feeding them Cheerios On My Legs

Ducks LOVE Cheerios. I'll pour a handful on my legs and let them eat them off of me. This has helped them not be afraid of me. They love treats so much they even come when I call them. Even if they are hiding in a part of the yard I can't see, if I yell "Peepers" they'll start quacking. If I keep yelling it they'll come waddling. It's so darn adorable.

They Have Blue Feathers Now

Smokey and Bandit have the most interesting colors. They look black and white until they get out in the sunlight. Then, their black feathers begin to shimmer and change colors. Sometimes they look blue. Sometimes they look green. It's very beautiful.

Sammy Is Almost All White

With the exception of a little yellow baby fuzz left on her head, Sammy is now a white duck. She's a sweetie. She's the biggest treat lover and is much larger than all the other ducks. She holds the rest back while she eats as many treats as she can.

I'm glad the ducks have finally bonded with me. It's nice to walk around the yard and chill with them without them running from me. They're really cool and sweet pets.
