Making Amends After I Screwed Up Big Time

It's been exactly two months since I made a big mistake....

On May 23rd I was in a bad mood and really shouldn't have been cooking. Everything I cooked was horrible and messed up in some way. I just wasn't up for making anything and I screwed up really badly.

I melted my husbands favorite plastic bowl!

I was trying to make a chocolate pie. I couldn't find my double boiler so I used the old fashioned method of slowly heating my chocolate in a bowl over a pot of boiling water. I wasn't paying attention and at one point all the water boiled out and my bowl touched the sides of the pot. It melted all over the place. The bowl was ruined and I felt really bad.

It was his favorite bowl!

My husband wasn't mad but he was disappointed. That was the bowl he used all the time. It was big and had a spout you could use to pour liquid mixtures. It was great for making pancakes. Sometimes my husband even ate cereal out of it even though it was too big to be a cereal bowl.

This Week I Finally Made Amends!!

It took a lot of searching to find a replacement bowl for my husband. I wanted to get him a red bowl with the pour spout. The original came from Walmart 6 years ago and they no longer had ones I liked. These shiny bowls came from Amazon and they are great. Now he has three bowls instead of just one! My husband loved them and was happy to have mixing bowls in the house again.

I promised never to use them as a double boiler!

I feel better now that I've got that mistake off my conscience.

Now if only I could fix that dent on the back of the car where I backed up into the rock wall in the back yard before my husband notices my conscience would be clear...

I do feel better confessing. And he is over it. He does more of the cooking lately so I'm glad I could replace his bowls.

... lucky you - someone who cooks for you - you need to keep happy

If you obsess this much over a bowl, are you going to buy him a new car too ;\ (jokingly). Look at it this way he ended up with several replacements with the new set, so it turned out to be an upgrade.

Technically they were my bowls...truthfully, I melted my own bowl and I really needed a new one. Somehow we've lost all our bowls in the move. Husband really liked my bowl so he used it more.

Hahahah. But what I don't get is gosh why does your husband have to be such a diva that he couldn't use the bowl you melted? A little melted bowl never hurt anyone - could just plug up the holes. This was really all his fault if you think it through.

Oh, the picture didn't show the full damage. The top of the pot melted a 4 inch long hole on the opposite side of the bowl. It was pretty bad. I do like your view of putting all the blame on him though. lol. Yes, how dare him.

You could have wrapped those bowls for a b day or Christmas present lol

His birthday is in May so he would have had to wait a whole year. lol. I figured we both needed them.

2 Hail Mary's and 9 rosaries and we're good. lol

Oh yeah I remember that one!!!

That's my name. Don't wear it out. Really...don't wear it out. According to your comments tab you're really wearing a lot of names out.

I noticed that too and I think it's really funny.
