It's been nine years since my husband and I had our first date and admitted we liked one another. Nine years ago tonight my husband and I were hanging out at his apartment watching Into the Wild and eating tacos my husband cooked for me. That night I made a move on a man I liked and we had our first kiss and became inseparable.

It's amazing how our life has changed. Back then we were carefree college students with an open door to the world. Now, we have a house and a baby and have settled into a calm life. Nine years ago we dreamed of traveling and having adventures. And we got to go on those adventures. Now we are both ready to stay in one place, build a homestead, and raise our daughter.

In many ways my husband and I are very different people than when we met. That's okay. We've grown up together and are still in sync with one another.

My Favorite Picture of Us

It's nice to have someone to spend my life with who is such a good match for me. For our anniversary we got takeout from a restaurant and had dinner at home. My husband has been sick with congestion and a sore throat. I'm really not feeling great now. I'm pretty sure I'm catching what he's had.

Even though we both feel sick, it was a nice dinner with our daughter. We both reminisced and talked about how much we are enjoying parenthood. Becoming parents has become our next great adventure in life and both my husband and I are enjoying every moment of our daughter's life.

Let's hope this cold passes soon. I hate being sick.
