Thought of the Day: February 02, 2018 - The Right Ego

Do you have the right ego? What does this even mean. So many books, meditations and people tell us that having an ego is bad. You and I need to get rid of our ego.

Have you ever thought that if you tell someone something, you will impress them? You will leave an impression on them that will cause them to think about you. What If I told you, this was your ego looking for acknowledgement, belonging or even looking to be superior.

Is your ego, subconscious and conscious mind trying to show off or it is something completely different?

Many believe the ego wants to be happy, right and in control at all times. It is believed that your self-image things there is nothing wrong in wanting to show and tell others how "lucky" you are. Your ego will even go as far to put people down and you may not even notice that you are doing it.

You have worked hard to get what you have, so why not tell others, show others and enjoy the fruits of your labour, right?

I believe before you do any of this, we have to ask ourselves one question. Why do have an insatiable urge to impress others with our material goods?

If you dig deep enough you will find the root cause of this answer. Ask yourself the question right now. Then answer it. Then ask you self why and answer that question. Each time you answer that question you dig deeper in to who you are.

I think you and I need to keep in mind that the ego does not know any better. But I know you and I do. We have to be conscious and use the right ego. When we do we can change how we see ourself and others. We begin to interact differently...
