Do you talk too much or do you feel you are a quite person?
Do you tell everyone your opinions on every topic under the sun or do you choose to be quite until someone asks you for your opinion?
Me, I try to be somewhere in the middle. I enjoy having good conversations with people on various topics but I also enjoy listening to what people say. I don't dominate the conversation with just my thinking.
I believe talking too much and being too open with what you say, can get you into a lot of trouble. It can alienate you from people as many people don't want to be around people they can't relate with.
The same is true if you do not give your opinion when you are asked. Many people have forgotten how to give their opinion. They have been told not to talk, just take direction from the moment they were born. In school and at the job they have been told just listen, don't ask questions and what they know is not information that will help the company succeed.
They have been told to be robots. Those who ask questions, looking for a conversation, feel these people don't have a genuine interest in conversation so they don't ask questions of these people after they have tried a few times.
If you are someone who talks too much, practice moments of silence. If you feel you are too quite, then offer your opinion from time to time.
This can help you with your listening and questioning skills. As well as you it can help you communicate with a variety of different people you are in contact with every day.
I believe true wisdom is not when you or I talk too much. Wisdom comes in listening and responding when you have something of value to add to the conversation.
What value will you add to the conversation in a world that is looking to take you attention and divide it over million of different topics...
