Halloween plans gone awry

in life •  6 years ago

After Christmas, Halloween has got to be one of my most favorite holidays annually.

That excuse to dress up and throw a party. Thinking of a theme for the year and holding a best costume and design just brings out the competitive juices that I have.

This was me trying to be The Governor in The Walking Dead.

The theme for that year was Villains and at that point I still liked watching The Walking Dead and he was someone that made the hard choices.

Some of my officemates turned to videogames, movies and TV show villains.

It was a marvelous time and everyone had fun doing that.

So this year I sit alone dressed in pajamas while people I know dress up in their companies and show off their costumes. Eat candy with their kids and have a fun time.

I miss out on such a fun activity and just hits it home that I am no longer in a company. No activity for me to judge in, no contest to host, no prizes to give out and not see the smiles of people for an event well done.

It just hits home that I am alone.

Ok Mave, it's time to get out there and find a new place to call home/work. Easy for me to say I know! but I wish that you could start looking forward and stop looking back. If that place was so awesome, you'd still be there.

I'm so sorry that you're feeling this way, and I know it 's all easy for me to say what you could be doing/feeling, I'm just hoping for the best for you buddy. I want to see you laughing again <3

Hey mav. That's a pretty cool costume. I guess you could say that's like dressing up for steem's Halloween. I went to help with a kid's Halloween contest which was pretty cute. I myself never got into dressing up for some reason, but I like seeing what others do, especially if they go all out haha.... I hear someone's gonna dress up as a STEEM monster ;)

Hey, Mav! That is a great costume! I love Halloween too but I like my alone time too (I have PTSD) so sometimes I have people over to my house in small groups for activities. Life is a beautiful canvas that we get to create each day however we want and whatever suits us best. It did take me a long time to figure out what will make me happy though. You can still enjoy Halloween but maybe in a different way than you are used to? hugs- Ivy

Mav, when I see your posts, the thing you are most passionate and excited about is your school charity work. This is where you need to be and need to do....You quit, thats good, it was making you ill. Now , decide what you want to do and where you will be happy and then do it. Yes it is that easy and yes, you CAN do it. Money, what people think the rest of the superfulous crap dont matter...just youre happiness, and peace of mind are the only things that are important. Remember when you smiled. Do it again. Remember a time you felt peace and contentment. Repeat it.
Come on mate, we are all rooting for you but only you can get a grip of this.
Thinking about you mate
PS Are you sure youre wearing a costume there mate ? ;-)
