Population a problem

In India almost all problem arise due to over population. As it is ranked as 2nd most populated country it faces various problems.

Besides its glorious past, our country have been trying its best to compete with others for its existence. In the period when the British ruled, exploitation of wealth and resourses is elaboratly describe in the book "Poverty and unbritish rule in India" by Dada Bhai Naoroji who was a renowned freedom fighter of India.

The unbritish rule had broken its back bone so vastly that till now its existence as a sound and prosperious nation becomes big question .
Now in India about 40% populatin live bellow poverty line.
Malnutrition, unemployment, hunger, poverty, illiteracy etc prevail everywhere in India nowadays. After independence our government has tried its level best to overcome it but till now all these problems prevail every where.

Our country have been blessed with its natural resourses . Almost all types of minarals such as coal, iron, manganese , mica etc are found in our nation.
India is rich in its forest resources as well as water resources. But due to population explosion all efforts of becoming a developed nation have failed. The poor people don't have knowledge about how over population effects the development of country.
They never even think that their ignorance may effect the society.

The term literacy and educated mean different things in our nation. In our country literate means a person who can only write his name and can read an envelopes. All these people never adopt birth controll measures or are not aware about it.
Unevenly distributed income create a vast gap between the rich and poor . lncome level of poor are very meagre compared to high income group. As a result the condition of poor people remain in bottom level.
The children of poor people remain in a state of under nourishment, have a lack of proper care and they sufer from various diseases. The poor people have to lead a life which is very miserable one.

Until and unless the problem of over population is not solved, our country could not be developed.

I have been thinking about overpopulation for a while now. I feel that overpopulation is one of the greatest dangers facing mankind.

Either mankind will decide to control it's own population or nature will do it for us. The choice is ours.

Thank you for your valuable comment

Over population is the problem of the entire world. Bigger problem is our ego, materialism, greed and disrespecting mothernature.

Totally agree with you Maya. Overpopulation is suffocating India. No matter how much we try to develop, it pulls us back. After all most resources are limited. Some people may not like my comment, but I strongly believe that, "You have no right to bear children, if you can't afford to provide them food, shelter, clothes and education. Its almost a sin. because of this issue, poverty never goes from the country and the gap between rich and poor keeps on widening". Apologies, if someone does not agree with my comment.
