Are you tempted to ride the bubble? Are you made of leather and steel? Are you ok with losing money? Then read on!

Bubbles bubbles nothing but troubles you often heard Grandma say. Well what did she know? Back in the box with you Grandma!

What is a bubble when we talk about crypto? A crypto bubble is when the price of a coin or coins is massively on the rise. You may have noticed that there is currently a massive alt coin bubble led in chief by The Arch Felon, Bitcoin. Can nothing stop the mighty bitcoin?

Well yes. It is a rare thing that can keep on rising forever and eventually there will be a...

No, not the naughty skelp on the derriere you might be hoping for from a strict Aunty but instead the kind that has you blinking back stinging tears of horror as you watch your portfolio do its best to imitate a particularly dead duck.

On the subject of Bubbles I find myself taking two tacks. These are risky so I will state that you should not follow the advice of a fool when gambling, oops, I mean trading with Alt Coins. And yes the fool I am potentially referring to is me.

14956g52411-picsay.jpg

The last thing any of us want is for you to be finding yourself losing your pants to a feller named Bob with a steely glint in his eye as he tells you to undress.

Two important things for me when buying during a bubble are price (in satoshis) and volume.

Oh yes. The experts love to talk about the volume. To a new trader this seems mysterious but is simply how much money is selling or buying.

1495652411-picsay_20170524201211554_20170524202820730.jpg

First, is the price as cheap as chips? I.e a few hundred or less satoshi? Yes? Move onto the next step.

Is the volume at least 500K? in btc? Yes?

Fire in! Load er up. Get yourself a good big dod of these cheap cheap coins! For the princely sum of ten to twenty dollars you can pick up many thousands of these coins. This is what I have done to great effect but again I must state. Do not do this if you are averse to risk! This is a bubble. Anything can happen!

Another tip! Try not to buy when something is pumping. This is really risky and you often find that you invest and then boof! The buying stops as if by magic and you find yourself staring at long red candles into the night before retiring to bed and weeping softly into your pillow.

What you are hoping for with these little frittery coins is that they will go through a pump, which in this current bubble has been happening frequently. Often the key point here is that if they pump then you should ready to dump once it looks like the trend is reversing. So buy your coins and watch, watch carefully.
1495c6g52411-picsay.jpg
You have to be prepared. They might never pump. Keep in mind that this, by all accounts is a crypto bubble. It is liable to pop and the price of everything could plummet. So only gamble, I mean trade. Oh sod it, I mean gamble with what you can afford to lose!

Happy bubble riding!!!

I rode Ripple before it went cripple, I ride Ethereum towards delirium, I use Dash to transfer cash, and I hodl Steem, because a man must dream ...

Holy flip of the banana! You are a savant. Gifted I say. Let you not ever speak never in verse! Hold on I double negatived myself into a bind. I dont know if that works! :O)

I got in early so if there is a correction I'm still good. I believe in Crypto so I'm riding this thing until the very end! If I had to get in big "now", well it seems frothy, but i believe you will come out at the end of the year regardless.

I got in early too. I still hold a bit because I too am gonna ride the wave till it crashes me into the shore spluttering up my salty end!

Lol, same here brotha, to the salty end!

Little bubbles, no troubles!

Never troubles with little bubbles!

This post is in a bubble.

I think it's popped

I was a stock broker through the dot com bubble....they keep getting bigger and bigger till they BAM lol. The whole time reminded me of the childrens game of musical chairs!

That's a very good analogy! Everyone loves the up but the downs always seem to catch them out every time. You will probably be glad you ain't in that game now?

Oh I'm still in the game, just personally not professionally. I don't run public money now :)

Yah, you gotta keep your hand in ;0)

I think we'll see a far bigger ridiculousness compared to the dot com bubble. It's just a very different time now with different technologies in place.

You have explained in 1000 words or less the entire concept of investing. This can apply to stock (shares) or Cryptocurrency (coins). I learned more from your article in two minutes than I could have learned studying economics at Harvard for four years!

You are truly too kind! Thank you!

Ahahhaahhahah!! Isn't that always a bonus!!! Top notch!

Thanks!! Time to HODL with the rest!!

Sweet sweet hodling!! Flip, sounds like inspiration for a song!!

Like a lullaby? hahaha

Or a right good country number!! I can hear the twanging slide guitars in my head!

Gotta weave in beer and tractors!

It wouldnt be a good ole song without it!!

Good view of the phenomenon! Everyone is so excited now about crypto. I just started doing my very first trades on bittrex and I am learning lessons already after just a couple of days into it. Risky stuff though!

Oh it is so risky! I am glad you are dipping your toes in though. It can be quite thrilling and at first there is absolutely nothing wrong with really small trades to get a feel for it!

That's what I'm thinking. Plus the only money I put in are the ones I got for my posts on here in SBD so I am comfortable losing that for the lesson and the ride really. Gives me something to do even though it is only like 0.1 BTC worth of coins, I can still get the hang of it just fine. I am quite amazed I got that in a week though.

That is truly the best bit isn't it! Steemit is inspiring/creating a generation of crypto traders! I know that one of the reasons touted behind steemit was to get more people involved in crypto and it really is! When its money you have earned from posting its so much easier to speculate/gamble/invest wisely ;O)

Really does feel that way...but it works, as you never "held in in your hands" in the first place anyways. Similar to gambling in some ways but different in the way that you can influence the outcome by making quick informed decisions. Takes a lot of time and effort to keep up with it all. I guess if you play with big sums it ends up being like a job basically.

I think if you were dealing in big sums as you say you would go demented unless you did treat it as your job!

It does help if its not money you have held in the hand yet, oh yes

Ah...volatile stuff! :)

Great post my friend! Always with your touch of humor! Now all the crypto coins are falling to pieces! Are we coming out of the bubble? I am going to hold the position, I do not intend to sell. But if it is a good opportunity to buy, do not you think? Xmr, xrp, xem, strat are all collapsing. I think there is more to win than to lose. Abzo

Loll, Cheers mate!! Lol, the important thing to remember that bitcoin is rising massively so it looks as though the coins have lost a lot of value but they haven't lost to much relative to bitcoin. A couple have even maintained their position !! I do agree though, if you have the btc it might be a good time to buy!!!

I have read in some places that it will surpass the 3k. In Korea and India it is selling above that value. Let's hope my friend goes up!

The other day I remembered you, I know you do not live in England, but I'm sorry about what happened in Manchester. I hope these things stop happening. Big hug my friend!

It's very close to Scotland and we are all part of the same island. It was and is very tragic :0(

That's wild. Maybe I will buy one for old times sake ;0)

Yes, incredible my friend, I don't know how governments can stop them. They don't care nothing and no one in the world is safe. I hope you have a good Thursday Sir. Meesterboom. Big hug!

My husband is an avid Bubble rider, he does quite well, perhaps you and he have the same techniques, haha! I myself am fairly clueless about all things crypto besides steem, but once again you have entertained me about an otherwise yawn fest of a subject to me LOL!

Lol, it is my business to make what is dull shiny and interesting!!! Lol!

Awesome as always dude.

Lol, Cheers man!

I am not a gambler unless its on bingo but then I only loose £10 lol

10 pounds is all you need!! :0)

I do win now and again

Thats all that matters! :O)

Very true :)

Put some duct tape around the bubble. It will hold on longer. Party on!!!😎

Duct tape works on everything! Steem on! :OD

great...resteem and upvote for you....

Thank you! :O)

u r welcome...

Guess who didn't buy STEEM today at .00058!

ME!

(I sold instead!)

Clever man!!!

I have read some folks picking a target yield and slowly cashing out. The same works in reverse. If the price has lost a certain percentage, then a small amount is bought.

Eg. Target yield is %30, cashing out 5% per month.

Or. Target yield is -30%, buying .05 btc every month.

Do you recommend this approach? It seems like a bot would be the best way to get your emotions out of trading.

I think a bot would because it is hard to separate out the fondness for a coin or the mad emotional hope that it will do something wild and therefore hold as its value erodes. I think that approach could work but I wouldnt like to count on it being so stable in this climate

Ohhhh the banter!
Informative post too mate!

Ye cannae beat the banter eh! :OD

Well, you got great advise, back in January I was planning to sell Monero around $4 to $8 each, to this day I'm still holding the few coins I had back then, and I'm glad I never just dumped for such a low price. Holding seems if it is a good coin to be paying off better than dumping.

Holding absolutely has its advantages, I didn't want to muddy the waters. I think I might cover holding soon!! I am still holding some litecoin hoping for another boost on top of the one I got!

I hear you there, I sold off some of my BCN went from 4 satoshi to about 154 where I sold some off at, sold a big chunk early did not think it would go any higher than 38, so selling of smaller positions now!

Oh yeah, I do that. Sell off smaller amounts to recoup your outlay but hold the big stuff back just in case it's still rising! I really did well out of Ripple, I know people hate it but I didnt know it was the bankers coin and bough in a 0.05 pence and it colossaly mooned!

I was looking to get into ripple a couple years back but the small amount I could have bought back then would not have even paid the 20 ripple needed to keep the address open, so I never jumped into ripple.

But now now! Now you would be thr ripple king! People would look out at oceans and see the waves and mutter @smysullivan... he owns this!

LOL, do they still have a minimum for the wallet address? Starting a new job next week, after not working for 2 years, so I will be putting money into cryptos and living the life, well at least I hope!

I am genuinely not sure if they do. I have only bought and sold on exchanges! Good luck in the new job!

finally!!! I was really waiting for this!!
Good advice on how to trade..uhm..gamble like a bossssss

Try not to buy when something is pumping

Sage advice that came way too late for me. I had been swept up by the hype and now the piper is eagerly awaiting my payment. But, you know me, I'm a hard-headed grunt who knows not when to fold. I did weep from my transgression, but for how long and how hard? Only myself and my pillow are privy to that information.

And everyone knows that a pillow never tells!! To be fair I thought that pivx still had some legs on it back then. Didn't expect the dead duck'ing that it became!! Buy em cheap!

Incidentally, as soon as I post this article about a bubble bitcoin goes crazy and all the coins go long red!! Lol!!

Haha! The Oracle of ... Oh-No-I-Don't-Know-A-Place-That-Starts-With-O-That-I-Can-Relate-To-You-But-I've-Already-Committed-To-This-So-I-Don't-Know-What-To-Do!

Could you whisper that PIVX is in a bubble so that I could just come away without any losses? Haha! Thank the crypto gods for the "until cancelled" orders haha!

I will ride the bubble all the way through! More profits on the other side! Crypto = future so HODL HoDL HODL

Hehe, ride that whirlwind!!!
