Guest beers!! What on earth are they!?
The inestimably cool @oaldamster sent me some beer!!! All the way from Hamsterdam!!!
How amazing is that! Last week, we had chatted back and forth about the splendid looking beer he was drinking and he offered to send me some.
How could I refuse? Particularly after my rubbish beers.
And boom! What do you know? In no time it was here!
Once again. Thank you, mate! You lifted my spirits when they were a tad low!!
So in a departure from the usual harsh judging and penis related shenanigans, I am just going to drink these fine beauties and chill out!
This fits in splendidly with my plans because the Good Lady has booked us a wigwam for a few days in the bitter North.
And we leave in the morning.

Look at the little beauties.
I will be drinking the quadruple first followed by the incredible sounding, whisky infused, Gouden Carolus!
I am under strict instructions from the Good Lady not to get wellied because we leave early for the wigwam.
She hasn't seen the alcohol strength of these two though. Ha!!
So, apologies for the lack of reviewing and swearing at the sky from the comfort of my garden.
It would be churlish not to savour and enjoy these two little chaps. Once again, @oaldamster, I salute you!!!

That's funny you go for the Gouden Carolus first, I was totally like, oh the Whiskey!!! And left it till last.
The quadruple was a lovely beer, the smell was amazingly caramel and what a fizzer it was too. Really enjoyed it.
But now I'm on the Gouden Carolus and it takes stop much. I love whisky beers and it's a cracker!!!
This will prepare me nicely for a had about the frozen wastes up north!! :0)

Normally I would go for the Carolus last too, but already had finished them last weekend. Had two of them, could not even finish the second one, hahaha. Kept the left-over in the fridge, no foam-head the other day, but it was almost like I had a small whisky the next evening. :-)
Glad you like them mate! Knew that when you like the I&G then this would be one to enjoy. With the GC I always have some "aaaaaawwww" experience after I had the last drop.
And in a tipi that close to the northpole one needs to be prepared properly!

I had a job to do october last year, not far away from where the 'inestimably cool' @oaldamster lives.
We met after I had finished on a terrace and spoke a lot about several things for an hour or two (but actually way too short).
He's a great guy and it doesn't surprise me at all that he made a special effort to send you these fine "goodies".
Five days in a wigwam hey? That's some real shameless pampering of the Good Lady man ...

I think it has a wee bit less body than the quadruple but the whisky glow is nice and balanced and make up for it. All in its a great beer!

The Q is a fine one too, absolutely, more 'oumph' beer like, I'd say, or as you stated: more body. To me the GC is a beautifull merge between beer and whisky, as if they were ment to be together. (My better half often giggles when she hears me describe a special brew, as if it were a fine wine.)

Enjoy your sojurn in the outer wilds, initally I forgot you were six months behind us, and looking out at the dark grey, about to rain, sky I thought you were B mad, Then I remembered you are Scottish, which alone explains it, and you are probably having bright blue sun filled days.
