Listen to the message, not an messengers ego

We live in a society that is enamored with identity and ones own ego where often we forget it is not the messenger it is the message. We should be mindful and listen to the substance of the message, rather than putting the messenger in any form of recognition. Our aim should be not to get too bogged down with the who because that can miss the point the messenger is hoping to convey. That is, it’s the message that’s important, not the messenger.

Very rarely if at all can any messenger provide us with a blemish-free life of their past. They are humans like each and every one of us. Too often we witness rebuttals when quoting one person or another with well they did this or the individual said that. Throughout history the greatest messengers offered us not only words but examples of a better way of living, loving, compassion, kindness and oneness. I for one am not anywhere near perfect and I encourage anyone to please take my message as you see fit and get it to the masses if you can relate to it.

I do not want and will not ask for credit because I am simply a messenger with a past not so noble, the presence of here and now, with a future that is never guaranteed. History has taught us that our attachment and allegiance to the messenger has made us blind to the depth and subtleties of many crucial messages brought to us throughout the ages. This is why so much conflict arise where there is no need. Egos, different personalities and the various interpretations that have been overlaid on the original message(s) have led us away from peace, integrity, forgiveness and truth. My view is that if any message makes sense to you and sits comfortably in your heart without contradiction then that is the path you must follow. That is the path you should attempt to live with the best of your abilities. That is your path at this moment.
