Like some of you, I used to spend a lot of time arguing on Facebook. I thought if I just gave one more "fact", someone might change their mind and see the light. I was so attached to my views and beliefs that I would get triggered while sitting up on my self-righteous high horse. I'd often respond with harshness and lack compassion. I thought "well, they just need to hear the truth!"
It's easy to learn more about our reality and feel like you have been blessed with the gift of some sacred wisdom that most of the population won't ever understand or accept. That arrogance not only prevented others from actually considering my perspective, but it also caused me to be quite bitter. My mind began to focus on everything that was "wrong" all around me. Are there dark and malicious entities that manipulate humanity? It does seem so. But, I found this way of thinking to be very much a victim mentality. It held me back from seeing the abundance of good that pervades all.
Perhaps piety is a step in the learning process. I just hope most folks don't stop there. Because the thing is, we are all here to learn and grow. Some of us will do so exponentially, and some of us will be complacent and never surpass childhood maturity. This realm is the School of Hardknocks - it's one big lesson. Some of us will get that and accept our challenges as opportunities to level up. Others will keep being faced with the same challenges over and over again, repeating the same level until they finally learn the lessons.
But, this realm is paradoxical. Even though it's one giant lesson, also - "it's just a ride". So when we can soften and be in awe of this mesmerizing orchestration of phenomenon - the never ending perfectly choreographed dance that is life, we can "stop chasing shadows and just enjoy the ride".

I VERY MUCH DISAGREE WITH YOU MELINA!
Just kidding... haha
I used to play the facebook rant game too. It definitely brought out my ego full throttle and I also felt that similar sense of bitterness. I realized that this was not who I was, nor did I want to live this way.
In the end, if something is important and I really want to educate them about it, I'll tell them in person. That's what seems to make the most sense to me.
Great post though @melinamaria - it's just a ride!

I've found that living by example is a great way to reach people. You treat them well and show them there's another way that might work well for them. They naturally become curious and more likely to delve into alternative thinking :)

I am glad I found your article. I have been experiencing the same sentiments with facebook debates and the discord rhetoric.
Sometimes I get caught in the dance because I even see that as part of the experience.
But a reminder to just living the experience is one that I think people need to hear.
