The old saying is money can’t buy happiness and it’s true but maybe not 100%, maybe 75% or less even and here’s why.
I’m not at all trying to say that you need money to be happy but aknowliging that money at times can create happiness or improve it. I believe that the saying ‘money can’t buy happiness’ or other ways of saying that was a mix of truth and sadness.
You can’t buy good relationships or friendships etc and psychical objects don’t give real happiness as such.. usually. The other half which many people don’t think of is that we usually say this saying to make ourselves feel better for not having money as we know it would be great to have it. I can’t think of many times if any that it’s been said when me or someone else saying it was happy within themselves.
So maybe the saying wasn’t just about money not making you happy but also we feel that money can make us happy in ways and when we don’t have it we think of the positives which is a good way of looking at it to let go if we are short of money at the time.
Now where I believe money can buy happiness is buying a home, in a nice area. Our home is one of the most important things and money is what gets the best homes we want, otherwise you have to live where you can afford rather than where you would prefer. This can greatly affect your mood and your mental health.
Holidays are a break and can help us recover from stress etc and having a good car and other things can help our self esteem. This isn’t meant to make us all feel that we need money to be happy but I suppose to be honest with all the facts.
Personally I haven’t got a car, or money for anything other than living a standard life. I haven’t got a job because I’m still having therapy for my ocd and I’m living in a rented flat from the council on disability benefit while I go through getting better.
So I feel personally a home with no rent in a area I’d like would bring happiness but excessive money wouldn’t. We all have our own thoughts on what happiness is and what money can do but I think money does have some way of increasing our happiness but not on its own.

This is a very smart way of thinking about it! Being careful not to love material things too much is really important, but making sure we're happy by having a positive surrounding is extremely beneficial.
