The 7 sins of Steemit ! Rapid emergence of a Virtual Collective Consciousness (poll inside)

in life •  8 years ago  (edited)

Could a collective consciousness emerge from people voting on ideas?

Well, I guess a kind of. Steemit relies on individuals values. Indeed, Steemit provides the support required for an action group seeking the highest level of identity, autonomy and initiative and the question is to know if the Steemit Blockchain can morph into Virtual Collective Consciousness. *1
Given Steemit is a VCC, is it for the greater good? Time will tell.

The religious analogy: Steemit as a meta-entity

Once you click the «Post» button, you are at the mercy of the Steem Gods.
You may pray to have their upvotes, but I am not sure if it helps. Of course, you don't know if you are doing right, so you start a social media value based introspection. Although I agree that you may have a similar feeling when you apply for a job, ultimately when one post on this platform, he may feel like a super entity will decide his fate. Isn't cool?

Social Media monetary interactions

Key religious forms of experience – faith, unity, and individuality – exist in Steemit monetary reward system and point toward a way to understand the interplay between religion and economics. *2

So far I can't get a clear picture of how Steemit will influence content creation, but I saw that it is fast, competitive, sometimes even aggressive because for the first time in social media money is an accelerator. Apparently, steemit is making history.

7 Deadly Sins & 7 Heavenly Virtues

I expect strong reactions from this article and this little poll will probably not help to temper it:

The Steemit format

Will a lot of people produce the content they expect their god will like? It may constitute an obstacle to creativity. What do you think about this?
