I had the great pleasure of finally taking some time out after months of lock down blues. I went to a private Game Reserve just outside Johannesburg South Africa.
It was the best 6 days I have spent in a very long time, the peace calm and tranquility was amazing and gave my soul wings to fly again. Waking up every morning to the sounds of nature, without the distractions of TV and just the hustle of life in general. I felt renewed and energised enough to get back out there and start living again.
The lodge is situated 3 hours drive from Johannesburg and has every animal South Africa has to offer, including the big five. Sitting out on the belcony for breakfast every morning made me realise just how lucky we are here in South Africa, to have all of that right on our doorstep. Made me also realise just how unappreciative we are of what we have. I havve now vowed to go out and explore my own country.
We are always so eager to abandon local travel for the supposed "exotic" travel of going overseas, when I personally have not completely explored our own back yard.
With the recent events of COVID I have come to realise the importance of making the best of what we have, and also, especially right now the importance of spending whatever money we have locally, that way we can re-inject the much needed cash back into our economy and thereby jump starting our local businesses and giving them a chance to get back on their feet.
These are just some photos taken on my trip, and probably by far does not do our country justice in showing the true beauty which lies buried in the heart of Africa, and more so South Africa.
I love my country!!!
Love The Writing. As for the images, out of this world.
