My dad was reading the newspaper on the couch and I stalked in and stayed next to him.
“I have nothing to do.” I sighed, bored.
His mind still buried deep in the paper, he replied:
“You can clean the house, clean your room, help your brother on his homework, invent something, go grape picking outside, write a book, go for a walk, finish up everything that's on your mind, do volunteering, pick up garbage, explore…
and change the world.” He finished in one breath.
“Never tell me that there's nothing to do, Milous, because the world is still messed up…Be the change.”
I got up and glanced around, noticing everything that had to be done.
It was pretty motivating, his mini-speech.
My dad doesn't say much but when he does, he always says something like this.
And I love him for that.
