Finding Happiness

Happiness can be
found in a lot of forms.
But I never saw myself
and felt happy.

I looked at him and
I felt a rush of happiness within me.
I saw my parents and
looked for my happiness
looking at them.

I saw the little things
everyone around me felt
happy about.
And I wondered.
Was it me who didn't know
what happiness was or were
the others just able to
find there's more easily?

But as much as
I looked for my happiness
in other people,
I saw how everyone
was living in the shadow of sadness.
And when I look around,
all that I see is people trying to
be what they aren't.
