We haven't really had many opportunities to take vacations (too expensive)- just went to Florida once in winter 2011. It was beautiful and so memorable -first time I ever saw palm trees in real life. :) I agree that vacationing to "escape" one's life is sad. I would rather enjoy my day to day life and take a vacation once in a while not to escape, but rather for the experience.
