Seeing the topic above, you might begin to wonder, what could be the simplest and yet biggest productivity tip, well it's quite simple. Just so you know, it's not a fancy application on your computer neither is it a very complicated process. rather it's very basic, enough of the talk...Here it is:

At the beginning of the day, take out a blank piece of paper and place it in the center of your desk. At the top write the three most important things you want to accomplish for the day. These are the three tasks that are important enough that their completion will allow you to declare the day a success–regardless of what else gets done.

You see, as I said before, it's is simple and very easy to do. Irrespective of its simplicity, if you follow through with that advice you would suddenly find your productivity skyrocketing. Your typical day is just like a jar which you are putting efforts trying to fill with let's say three large rocks and sand. Once you put in the sand in first, you won't be able to get the rocks in also, but when you put the rocks in first, the sand will fill in side by side around the rocks.

Your three important tasks are like these rocks. Once you are able to get them fitted right into place, then every other thing would fall into place by filling in around them. On the other hand, if you allow all of the less important things deprive you of the time you require to spend on the important things, you won’t be able to fit them in at the end.

In order for this to work, there is a need for you to make sure that your three important tasks (the three blocks) aren’t things which would take up to twelve (12) hours. Pick something reasonable, even if it requires you to break some of the tasks down into smaller bits. What is reasonable would epends on what type of work you do. For a person who works in an office (alone) and is most rarely interrupted, trying to accomplish four (4) or five(5 ) hours of an “important task” work might be quitepossible. But for many people, it may be only a couple hours due to the fact that the rest of the day would be taken up dealing with other emergencies and uncertain interruptions.
Now, if you happen to be someone with a computer-based task list, you would probably be thinking that you can make do without the piece of paper. Well, in my experience, the process of putting down the three most important tasks on a physical piece of paper with a real ink and then crossing them off is a very important part of making this turn out successful. The point here really isn’t that having things on the computer is bad, but then taking these three tasks out of your normal system and getting them right in front of you is a powerful way to stay focused.

You must understand that the goal of this system really isn't to try to schedule every possible minute. rather, the goal is to be certain that you are making meaningful progress toward the very important things and not letting them get you all crowded out.
