Do you have a friend or family member addicted to drugs? Here’s how you could help.

The reason why I would like to touch on this topic is because we honestly don’t talk about it enough..

This could be a book long but I’m going to keep it short and sweet with the key points I would like to touch on:

You first need to understand that this process could take anywhere from a week to a few years. Don’t think about how long it’s going to take as this will only frustrate you.

The key is to love them. Remind them that you love them no matter what they do and no matter what anybody says. When you talk to them about their struggle, don’t make it feel like an intervention. If you give them a guilt trip even though you have good intentions, they won’t listen to you and it will only push them further into the darkness.

It’s so simple, we honestly over-think it. Rehab doesn’t work. They don’t need a fancy jacuzzi, video games, or a gym. They need to be around family and friends that constantly remind them how important and loved they are.

Sooner or later the constant love will make them question their actions. The real question is how much love and patience do you have? It’s not easy.
