Londoners wakes up Wednesday to see a blanket of snow as the Siberian weather front has sent temperatures plummeting across the country.

There were delays and suspended services on the Central Line, District Line, DLR, Jubilee, London Overground, Piccadilly Line and TfL Rail, largely as a result of the snow.

The Met Office said London is mainly fine with sunshine today, but it will feel increasingly raw given a strengthening easterly wind. Snow showers will be fewer and further between than of late, mainly affecting the east. Maximum temperature 1 °C.

Apart from an isolated snow shower most places becoming dry with clear spells tonight. Very cold with a penetrating severe frost, given the strength of the breeze. Minimum temperature -8 °C.

Temperatures will stay below 0°C for most of the week, according to forecasts, with snow showers and "significant" wind chill also set to hit the UK. (Photos by monir rohan)
