We made a stopover at Sapporo to visit one of the venues of the 1972 Winter Olympics. A friend insisted on seeing the Stadium as she is an avid skier and didn't want to miss taking some selfies.
To get to the observation deck of the Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, we were ferried by chairlifts. Pretty cool and not as scary as I thought it would be. The chairlifts run parallel to the steep slope of the ski jump.
From the observatory, we had a panoramic view of the city of Sapporo. It would be awesome if we had visited at night as the flickering lights from the streets and buildings would be a spectacular sight to behold.
Afterwards, we took numerous group snapshots right at the base of the stadium before continuing with our road trip.
